i am 16 and want to work at mcdonalds or some other food place. i just got my foodhandler permit and state id, is there anything else i need as far as work permits and stuff to start filling out applications? i dont wanna be sent on a dummy mission, having someone go through the trouble of reading my app. and calling me back to find out i cant work yet.

if you are applying for mcdonald's then I wouldn't worry too much about it. Foodhandler is the only one i'm aware of that you would need. You have to be at least 18 and perhaps certified to serve alcohol, depending on your state.

Might want to have your drivers license and social security card if needed (can't remember what age they give these out...16 or 18). Also, if you really want the job, letters of recommendation from your teachers would cinch it. Good luck! I've heard McDonald's is a good company to work for....in fact a friend of mine's daughter works for one, and she raved about it so much that my friend decided to work for them and she loves it now too. Both of them have been there now for 2 years and still love it. (part-time...my friends husband makes good money so they do it pretty much for the fun of it)

did you get the papers from your school saying your grades are good enough for you to be working? when I was in school this was something we had to have
