If u have a bill of sale you can go up to the county title office in your town, if not... you'll have to go up to the title office and get a lost title form, if the car is pretty old - you can go to an insurance office and request a bonded title, cost is $100 and involves a cop coming out to look up the vin #

In my state it depends. If you BUY a car w/o a title you can go to your insurance company and set up a bond for the car. This will start the process of obtaining one. Yes its a hassle, yes it takes a long time, but the end result is pleasing.

The Deparment of Motor Vehicles! You may have to do some "research", but titles for old cars (I assume you mean very old) are obtainable if you jump through all of the hoops. Be paitient and good luck.
