I have this 'friend' that was wanting me to figure out how long explosive diarrhea should last for. I think that it should not last ver long and if it does that you should seek medical help. My 'friend' told me that he has had it for about a month and half now and figures that it will just go away. I am pretty sure that this is not normal, but my 'friend' does not want to go see a doctor about it.

The primary cause is diet, but if they haven'tbeen eating bean burritos for a month, then yeah, a doctor is probably not a bad idea. Doctors see a lot worse then someone with that problem.

Usually explosive diarrhea lasts a day or two but no longer. Is your 'friend' always eating the same thing everyday? He should seek medical attention right away and take care of this problem. I'm sure it can't be very pleasant for him.

Hope your 'friend' gets better.

Depending on your friends overall health there could be a number of factors to consider. By telling you they do want help they just aren't ready for the real deal. Friends make the best makeshift doctors however, unless your friend seeks medical attention certain conditions can lead to complications. There is a commercial on the TV of two butt cheeks with a rosie complexion and the caption reads, Don't die of embarrassment. It reads true, knowledge is power.

You should not have explosive diarrhea more that 24 hours. It also depends on your age. Small children can't go that long. Try the BRAT diet.
B bananas
R rice
A apples
T toast.......

Sounds like your friend may have something more serious going on, and should be checked out.

Good luck and feel better soon.

Your friend should go to a doctor or emergency room now! He most probably picked up something like bacillary dysentery or some other form of bacteria. It could be a host of other things, so he needs it checked now. He should be drinking a lot of fluids, in particular Gatorade to replace the electrolytes he has lost. Time is of the essence.

Your friend really should see a doctor ASAP. Whenever diarrhea lasts more than two or three weeks, medical advice is recommended.

Not longer than 24 hours you can become dehydrated and that would make you even sicker
