If you're gonna start drinking alcohol, do it for enjoyment to make a social setting even more enjoyable, not alone, and definitely NOT specifically for therapeutic purposes. Having it in moderation will give you a sense of euphoria, and it will help you relax. Having too much of it will take away your sense of balance, affect your speech, and definitely impair your driving skills. Having it in large amounts , depending on your personality, it will loosen your tongue in a positive or negative (usually the latter) and impare common sense and good judgment. Me, I become a goofball. Cheers!

The point of drinking is not to get to the point where you can't control your body. If you're really worried and you want to try it, do so at home with a good girl friend. Try a nice wine or something like that. A couple of glasses while watching a movie should give you a baseline.
If you don't like it don't do it anymore there is nothing that says you have to drink.

Best recomendation, don't start. Now that we have that out of the way. 1. For your first few times, get something easy, flavored vodka and cranberry juice or a Mikes Hard Lemonae. Have 2 and drink them slowly! Do not start pounding them or you will end up like every other frat boy, puking all night.
2. It does not change the way you feel about things, it might make you say things you don't normally say.

Beer is not actually bad for you in moderation. If you have 1 beer a night, it will actually keep you "healthy"(so-to-say). Your body size and metabolism have a HUGE factor on how your body handles the alcohol. If you are a big man and have a fast metabolism, your body can handle quite a bit more alcohol than a small person with a slow metabolism.

it may do. on your case, i think of it extremely is extra age than something - your physique loses its potential to metabolise alcohol as you become older. yet once you're asking relating to the form of drink, then it may do besides. Wine makes me sense drained and sick, beer supplies me quite heavy hangovers, and that i'm very properly with spirits

so then don't. I am not trying to be sarcastic, but it's not worth it. It'll be fun, yes. You'll make friends at bars, clubs, parties- yes. But think of the bad stuff:
diziness
throwing up
hangovers- ouch
one night stands- not usually pretty in the am when sober
std
more likely to give in and do drugs while under influence
pregnancy
$$$ when you buy a round for everyone "cuz you f'ing luv them!"

It feels different to different people. Don't try it if you are afraid of it. You're better off without it anyway.
