I have a HUGE backyard with a pond and everything. My house is really in the woods and my last cat was definitely eaten. Any ideas on how I can get him back? (I tried shaking food/treats, making that kissy sounds and that other like tic tic tic sound, and called his name.. he usually comes with only one, and he didn't with all three).. HELP!!!! ♥♥♥♥

I resort to canned cat foods for such occasions.......you might want to walk around with it so he gets the scent. I would also check trees and under bushes...

If it's a nice day out he's probably out enjoying himself and won't be too quick to come back. However I'm sure he knows where he lives and didn't wander any further than he felt comfortable with. As time passes and he gets hungry/misses the comforts of home he'll most likely start heading in your direction. DO call out to him. If he did stray a little far your voice might help him find his way. (I once had one who did that to himself all the time.) Good luck! Remember that he doesn't see the danger. Just the fun and adventure.

we have three cats and when they first started going outside they didn't want to come back in. Until they got hungry! Just be patient, he'll probably come back when he's hungry. If he doesn't, try using food or treats. But don't stand there holding them or he probably won't come. Just leave them outside close to the door and keep an eye on them. He will smell the treat/food and probubly come and eat it. Then you can get him. I hope this helps! Good luck, I hope you find yoour cat!

Call the SPCA and ask to borrow a trap. I had to do that once. As long as the cat is still in the area, chances are good he'll take the bait. He might just be off exploring....are you SURE your last cat was EATEN? Just what do you have back in those woods??? Good luck!

Sorry, it sounds like you've tried about everything. (Calling him, shaking food, etc) Hopefully he's just exploring & will come back soon. Keep trying to call for him, leave his food bowl outside where he might see it.

I hope you have found your cat by now, leave food and water out for him. call all local shelters and even police stations and vets offices to see if anyone has turned him in. put up posters even offer a reward.
good luck!

So why did you let him out? Since your last one was killed.
He has Never been outside before, no life skills at all and what were you thinking!
When your cat comes home- DON"T LET HIM OUT!
Enjoy your yard and save your cats life, leave him inside.
He hopefully will come back on his own. Good luck.

Cats are very smart animals. Even if its his first time out of the house he will find his way back probably in the middle of night. Dont worry. :)
