Baal worship originated in Babylon....the home of Babel... and Nimrod, also referred to as Baal. While the Bible calls him a mighty hunter, his mother, Semiramis, who also became his wife... called him Baal. Then she had him killed....and made herself a god. From her all idolatry originated that developed after the flood. Other cultures and the multitude of languagues that came from the confusion of the languages at the tower of Babel, resulted in many different names for Baal, and Semiramis. So, some Arabs today still worship this Baal, which they now call Allah.... meaning 'god'. Their god is very different from YWH, the God of the Jewish people.

At first the name Baal was used by the Jews for their God without discrimination, but as the struggle between the two religions developed, the name Baal was given up in Judaism as a thing of shame, and even names like Jerubbaal were changed to Jerubbesheth: Hebrew bosheth means "shame".

you have the wrong people my friend. You just made fun of jews. YOU'RE antisemitic!

I don't see any link between the Muslim concept of Allah and the Canaanite concept of Baal. Baal often represented any number of a pantheon of pagan deities in various ancient near eastern cultures. As these cultures were polytheistic and the Muslim concept of Allah is vehemently monotheistic, my best guess is that they are unrelated.

Ditto on the Arab/Muslim corrections above, BTW.
