God I have been there. Have you guys actually talked about this or does he just play the passive agressive hurt thing when you try to take time for yourself?
If you can get him to listen just explain it to him. You might be able to enlist the help of a third party (like you minister) to help smooth it over with him. In the end this is one of those situation where fortune favors the brave. You have to speak up for yourself and your needs.
One bit of advice, when you talk about it do not make hime feel like you are blaming him for your need to be alone and make him understand (tell him as often as he needs to hear it) how much you love him and that this is about your mental health and not the health of your relationship.

Maybe he should move out then, especially if you're not married. It's not setting a very good example for all those kids. It sounds like you two need some pre-marital councelling or something because what you expect/need/want aren't in synch.
But I still think not living together is the best idea.

There r several reasons why a man wont give his woman space, some r. A need to control, jealously, lack of trust,. Just to name a few. A big one is he doesnt have a life outside of u. Communicating with him may uncover the answers. Good luck Curious 2006

write it down, he only sees that he works and brings home the bacon that the least u should do is watch the kids, clean, and have dinner ready on the table, ask him if he would like to trade places 4 a day (weekend) u will see how fast u get a free night and how fast the kids will go with a family member.

My girlfriend was addicted to myspace.com and is now addicted to this sight. We have a long distance relationship and she spends all of her time at home on this site so when she visits I'd expect it was to see me but she still just has to spend tons of time on this sight. It really irritates me. Especially since she used to complain about me spending time on the computer but then I stopped doing that. I will very rarely get on now when she's here, yet she does the very same thing she used to complain about. Ugh....

Me too! It is only because he is insecure. And perhaps you are his whole world, which isn't healthy. Encourage him to go out with the "boys" once in a while. Explain to him that you need to recharge which will enable you to be a better mother and mate.If he doesn't get it, he may never. Do you really want to spend the rest of your life like that? Because I guarantee, he will eventually drain you dry my dear.

Everyone needs to be alone from time to time. Just explain to him how the stress of everyday life really piles up on you and sometimes you need to get away.

Everyone needs time to themselves no matter what kind of relationship they are in. It helps them to maintain their individuality and be a better partner. Explain this to him and hopefully he will understand.
