the breed that I raise just plain loves to eat grass..they will lay down and graze like a cow...Just because they like it..It isn't always a sign of tummy trouble..
However, if you think your dog does it to help it 'barf''as it has a tummy ache, you can add a spoon of plain yogurt to its dog food at each feeding.. this will aid complete digestion..

Dogs aren't cow, they do nt eat grass because they enjoy it. Like many others before me have said, they do it because it works as a natural acid neutralizer (kind of like the doggie version of Tums). The reason your dog gets sick afterwards is not because of the grass, but because her stomach is upset regardless. I would not be too concerned unless this continues at an alarming rate. If it is only once in a while, I would almost consider it natural.

Just a word to the wise, if you know that your dog is a grass muncher, you will want to be very careful with the chemicals that you put on your lawn. Most pesticides and fertalizers are deadly to a dog - there are special brands out there that are pet safe. You might want to look into that as well.

Best of luck to you .

Every dog will eat grass.Dogs have been doing this for many years decades even. Its normal .It might be from an upset stomach but thats your dogs way of medicating herself.Just make sure you never spray weed killer or anything on your grass .You dont want to slowely poision her but other than just plain grass eating is harmless and does not require any vet trips

you do no longer point out the explanation why your canines's abdomen is upset. Is it from something he ate? if so, you ought to in user-friendly terms feed him canines, no longer human beings, meals. for occasion, did you know that chocolate is very almost deadly if a canines eats it. And, in case you do in user-friendly terms feed him canines meals yet come to a call to swap to a distinctive type, do it progressively, i.e. 3/4 contemporary meals and one million/4 new meals for 2 days, then one million/2 and one million/2 next 2 days, one million/4 contemporary and 3/4 new for 2 days, and finally all new on seventh day. If fairly his upset abdomen is from nerves, has there been any modifications in his or your recurring/existence? I constantly have thought that a canines will eat grass so he will vomit in spite of has disagreed with him. Has he thrown up or had diarrhea? a chilled, secure meal is boiled chicken (no spices) and rice. that's stable which you have made your vet conscious of your canines's subject, and that i'm assuming he's monitoring his wellbeing and behaviour. wish your "ultimate pal" is greater effective quickly!

No, there's no need to take her to the vet. The grass is essentially solving the problem.

Sometimes, we all have upset stomachs, and we don't always need to see a doctor for it. Imagine that you take antacids when you have heartburn. Your dog eating grass is a similar situation. She doesn't feel well, and she's taking something for her problems.

Find some "wheat grass" to grow for your dog. Dog's are "omnivores" meaning they eat basically anything. Cats also have a desire and a need to eat wheat grass and by growing it for them you can control when and where they eat it. Just get it from PetCo or a local petstore or go to a Nursery and ask for Wheat Grass. They do love it.

Grass is not harmful to dogs and doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong. Every dog I have ever owned has eaten grass.

No, try and figure out what is upsetting her stomach. I would start with her food, if its high fat then that may be the problem, sometimes dogs get into foods that we eat but can cause them to have problems like stomach aches, If the vommitting gets worse or she/he starts laying around or dosn't respond to you or normal activities then take her to the vet.
