Typically, these brews have 0.5% alcohol, as opposed to 4 or 5% for regular beer.
It must be below some detection or reporting threshhold, I believe, in order to declare themselves as nominally non-alcoholic.

It's about the same amount as orange juice naturally has in it. Think about how beer is made--rotting grains. Anually in Africa certain trees produce a fruit that all the animals eat and get drunk off of because its spoiling. So as far as non-alcoholic beer having alcohol in it... it's basically not enough to make a baby feel anything. Like orange juice!

Barry L. is right, up to a point.
Today "non alcoholic" beverages can be manufactured at less than 0.5%, but 0.5% was chosen as the upper threshold by the US Government and some others after their (failed) experiments with prohibition, and by many Muslims, because up to 0.5% was the alcohol that would occur naturally within a couple of days in fresh squeezed fruit juices and in yougurts.

Without it, it would not be beer it would be flavored water. There is about 10 non alcholic beers in one regular domestic beer.
