She starts pre-school on Monday, and I don't want them to be in her face. She will not leave headbands in her hair.

Putting some hairspray or hair gel and blow drying them to stay out of her face ought to work. Good luck.

Hairspray wouldn't be good for a kids hair. Find a gel that doesn't have alcohol in it. You can use plain aloe vera gel, just like you use for burns. Plain, not the green stuff.
If she doesn't like the style, its not going to stay in, no matter what you do. Let her help you chose, or play "beauty shop" before the big day, so that come Monday, you know what you are doing.
About hair barrettes, most times they don't want to leave them in because they are pulling. I used to put them in, and then barely pull to loosen, so that the individual hairs aren't tight. Lasts a lot longer. Have you tried different parts with the barrettes, so that the clip isn't on the same spot? Maybe the one spot is very sensitive.
I used to pull the bangs and a little other hair, (right about the corners of the eyes,) from each side to the middle of the back of the head, (the first one will be kind of on top of the head,) and put it in a ponytail holder, then go down a little and do it again, adding this "ponytail" to the next one and again until you get to the base of the head and can put the rest in a ponytail. She will have a hard time pulling all those out. It looks like a ponytail holder style french braid. And if you still have a few loose hairs at the top, maybe try the gel in those.
Good luck, kids will be kids, and "loose" a lot of barrettes!

barrettes made for fine hair are a choice. will she sit still long enough to do anything with it? I'm sure you've seen french braids, but there's a look that is something like that and is much easier and stands up better to a preschooler playing. I don't know if I can explain it, but I'll try! You'll need small elastic bands. Part the hair down the middle and then starting on one side, typically where you would see double frenchbraids, take a small section, starting the bang area and put it in a band. take another section behind that and put it in another band catching the free ends of the first band, continue all the way down to the nape. Repeat on the other side of the head. It should kind of look like french braids, only there's not braids. We did this with my niece who is 3 now and it really works great and is adorable! You can put different colors to match what she's wearing and use some of those little clip barrettes over the bands for more fun. Hope this makes sense!

My daughter (4 next month) has her section on the far proper aspect of her head. Ive been attempting to strengthen out her bangs for the previous 2 years (once her hair finally grew all in and changed into truly uniform), yet my mom saved taking her to get a haircut at the same time as she visited with them. i ultimately instructed her you reduce her hair back and thats the most suitable time she is composed of visit with out me LOL. anyhow, it truly is been about a year, and they could merely now slightly fit behind her ears. I merely save the section on the aspect and pull her bangs to the different aspect, both in a cute clip or tie. The plastic rubber bands that do not ruin the hair are acceptable for this, it makes a cute little pom-pom on the different aspect of her head and holds it solid. also, those pop in clips that maximum women use to carry up loose leads to a pony tail or some thing like that artwork truly solid too... we merely stocked up on sparkly rainbow searching ones lol. "youngster" clips have a tendency to no longer artwork in any respect IMO. Her very last important haircut changed into very last year round this time, and we were given it reduce right into a cute bob layered round her face, so as that because the bangs strengthen all of it sorta grows jointly. Her hair obviously grows sluggish, via the indisputable fact that's now merely to her shoulders. desire that facilitates!

Well they make little hair clips. Pull the bangs to the side of her face and clip them there. Or if her hair is long enough for a pony tail, then put her hair in a kind of high pony tail then use hair spray to hold the bangs up with the rest of her hair. I wish you the best of luck !

Make her one of those little water falls on top of her head and put a really cute barrett on it. She will love it. If not put hairspray or mousse on it to hold it back.

use cute bobby pins. if you go to claires or something and let her pick them out she might want to wear them more and not pull them out of her hair constantly. good luck!
