my cat just turned 5 months and is litterally bouncing off the walls. whenever she jumps from a high place or runs really fast her feet make loud noise. how can i reduce the noise so that it doesn't bother my neigbors downstairs?

Put rugs on the floor.

I don't think that a kitten makes that much noise, unless your neighbors are hyper-sensitive.

First off, ask your neighbours if the noise bothers them. No need to fix it if they can't even hear her running around.

If it is bugging them, you'll probably have to get your cat's claws trimmed. You can do this yourself. It's not hard. Just buy a pair of claw clippers, press down on her paw gently to make the claw pop out and clip the CLEAR part of the nail (there's a little solid bit in the middle that you shouldn't clip, it'll hurt kitty if you do). It might be difficult with a kitten, so maybe take her to a professional groomer for the first time, so you can see how it's done.

If you do it every two weeks or so, the claws won't be a problem and kitty will get used to you doing it.

First make sure the noise is bothering them at all. Sometimes we get worried and think something is louder than it actually is (I've lived in apartments for 6 years, so I know how that is).

If it IS bothering them, you must have some hypersensitive neighbors! I'd hate to see how they'd react if you had a kid.
