People seem to think that I'm "hiding" or making some sort of statement with my mask. I'm not, really. I just have a mask on because my name, Girl Wonder, is meant to be a superhero name, and superheros wear masks, so... there you go.
To prove I am not hiding, here are a couple pictures of me sans mask. Happy now?

Oh, and to keep this on topic... um... what do masks symbolize in your religion?

Good transition to a topic question.
I like the mask, but I think you need a cape.
As for the Mask in religion, I have always been taught that we all wear masks. The mask basically represents what mood we are in. ie...Are we helpful, or standing in someones way at a particular time?

I'm a little blue dot in Monument Valley. I think that's a lot more mysterious than any ol' mask.
But truthfully, masks do have some psychological impact - the obscuring of a face probably interferes with basic social psychology processes.
But, don't people realize that pretty much ANY avatar is a mask?

Aha! Now we know who that masked girl is...lol.
By the way, I like your avatar with your mask on, because it does give you a unique personality that way. :) I had pictured you as a blonde (your hair is not real evident in your typical avatar).
But to answer your question...in the Bible I could not find a reference for a mask, but facial coverings were used either as
1) A way to hide shame, such as an unclean face or a prostitute
2) A veil used by a maiden (unmarried virgin). It all depended on the time frame and cultural custom here.

Masks symbolize disguising the true personality. Pictures 1-3 were nice, but picture 4 unmasks you. Jesus loves you.
