Could be that she's stopped grooming herself, so the everyday messes are becoming more noticable. She might be feeling ill or something, which means she doesn't want to groom. If she's still eating and drinking, she might be fine, but if she's drinking too much or not eating, or if her behaviour has changed, I'd get her checked out at the vet.

Well, it depends on where the stains are. If they're around the anal area, it may just be fecal/urine stains....if it's on the feet, could be simple dirt....

Given her age, she may not be able to groom herself as well as she used to. If you can, try giving her a bath (or wiping her down with a pet wipe) and see if this cleans her up. As in all cases, if you're unsure or worried, seek the advice of a vet.

What color? White, like dandruff? Or is it yellow? If it's yellow check her ears & gums, and pull her eyelids up. If so take her to the vet ASAP. This would be liver disease. Monday, I had to get my cat put down because of this, and there were really no signs @ all, and she was 12.

if your cat is ten, take it to the Vet FIRST, with any problems, Groomer are great BUT, if there is a health problem......a Veterinarian will know what to do about it. They are trained for health problems, Groomers are trained for "looks"

Take her to the groomer and get her a good wash. If that doesn't do it then take her to the vet and make sure nothing is wrong with her.

not sure without seeing it, look around your house to see if anything is open that shouldn't be anything that she could get into that she shouldn't. take her to see the vet they would be able to tell you if it is anything to worry about.

your cat has some age on her.
It sounds to me like she has an illness.
Carry her to your vet.
Better to be safe than sorry.
