Like really WHY? I dont need to hear WHAT you believe, like bible tracts, etc...but WHY do you believe it?

Yes "Chris" i do know that certain questions get asked often...in fact, I just answered "Atheists: why don't you believe in god?" like 5 times in the half hour prior to posting this one....I just wanted to see if those who christians who are on today can answer as thoughtfully and honestly as all the atheists who answered the xtian questions. Judging by the christian answers so far, that percentage is low (as expected).

I'm not meaning to undermine your question or you in any way, but the answer to your question can be found very easily by browsing through this section. This question must be asked at least once a day.
I believe because I cannot accept the small chances on which my life otherwise would have been based. I cannot cope with the fact that my life is just a fluke, evolution etc. Although I do believe that is true, but that's another story... I need a purpose to my life, God provides that purpose. I was also brought up as a Christian, my whole family are Christians, that is not the reason I believe, but it certainly helps me. I believe mainly because I have an overriding feeling that there is something there, something more powerful than any being we can ever imagine, and I know that He loves me. For me I just cannot ignore that, some people can, which is also another story...

God actually, really, absolutely came into my life and heart through the Holy Spirit. That is why. The problem is you can't explain it to someone that doesn't have it. They can't feel what a believer feels. Talk doesn't mean anything if you can't feel the Holy Spirit working in you. That is why it takes faith first and then God sends "proof," if that is what you're looking for. I think that's the main reason people that don't believe in God look down on Christians as morons, weak, simple, etc. people, because they can't possibly understand and feel what we feel. Our "proof" of His existence happens within us, when God feels we are ready for His truth.

Before I became christian, I relayed only on myself, what ever I did it was because I did, and most of the time I did it wrong, something bad happened, happiness never lasted, and I always felt alone. seeking advise from people who I thought had it better than me and still not making things better. When I started to seek God and leaned on Him, Things changed dramatically for the good and has been & will always be. God is faithful.

That is a very general question. It's like asking why is the sky blue. But, I'll try to answer as best I can. I feel his presence everyday, and He's answered my prayers. Not all of them, but I feel comfort knowing he's there with me always directing and, guiding my every since of being. Gotta love that...right? And, I believe I'll be with him one day...knowing there is life after death gives me comfort.

If there is no God, then there is no meaning to life. All the experience in the world proves this true. Those who shun God usually are degenerate drug addicts, etc., etc., and are the lowest form of human intelligence. They will turn to lies such as spontaneous generation, now known as evolution. They cast out all moral law written in the Holy Scriptures, and invent ALL kinds of perversion, from homosexuality, to pedophilia and necrophilia, and bestiality; AND the losers say that because there is no God, they ARE EVOLVING, and that is why they participate in the lowest forms of human behavior!!!
There is one true God. His word is truth.

I believe because when I look around at all the beauty in the world, the colors of flowers, the singing of birds and witnessthe variations of all, I have to believe that there was a higher power creating all for us to enjoy.

The Bible, miracle, wisdom, love, peace, forgiving, Strange, Non Violence that is some that I found that make me Beleive in God. Even, other hate you or insult you. But in God, We need to Bless him and forgive him.

It's hard to explain. You just know that he's real and that's he's the one true God. I'm a preachers kid and some people think that your saved when your born since your apreachers kid but your not you have to experience that yourself

Because He turned my life around. My life used to be one big let down. I was depressed, hopeless, and suicidal. Not only did He give me hope, He made my dreams come true and then some. That's all the evidence I need.

It's a choice. It is by faith and faith alone. The Bible is "God breathed" and it was so. I just have peace and assurance now that God is real. He can be real for you too. Blessings.
