Religion is indoctrinated in you by your parents since the time you can speak. Of course it is spoon-fed.

At some point , at least here in the Western world, you go to school and meet people of different religious orientations. It is generally done that all religions are given at least a cursory overview in elementary school to promote tolerance. At that point, you have been fed a new idea to ponder. So said, you have a choice at some point to search out information that varies from what you were spoonfed.

I was very lucky my parents didn't push their beliefs on me I got to give all types of religions a chance and i did. I went to a lot of different kind of churches and read many books before i decided on being wiccan. and i only chose that religion because it folowed my beliefs closly and not teh otehr way around. I was looking for something close to what i believed and not something i had to change all of me for.

You can always say "no." No one but you controls what goes on inside you. You may have to conform to the outer, but the inner is your domain. I have found that in Christ is the ultimate freedom because He gives us a new nature to transcend the old. Only He can do that because only He has the power to do it. There are a lot of counterfeits, but the real thing is worth the leap.

Assuming God gives the majority of people the ability to think and reason, even a small child can choose for himself what he will or will not believe. Just because a partent takes a child to church is not a guaranty that the child will be a believer.

My parents were heathens. We lived in chaos and fear by their choice. For me, reform was choosing a greater truth than my parents "spoon fed" me... Christ is the Son of God, the Savior, and God lives. What was your question? You can explore and discover the truth for yourself if you choose to. You decide.

You are correct sir! I had no choice until I was 18. By that time, the medicine had become quite bitter.

Atheism came to me in a spoonful of shuga.
