Its called animal by-products. Whatever is left over after making ground beef, steaks, pork-chops, chicken breast etc. They usually consist of Beef, Chicken and Pork. But you can buy all beef or all chicken / Pork wieners at the supermarket you just have to really look at the package ingredients contents. So basically everything you have heard... Is probably true.

I'm not totally sure of this answer -- I think as some other posters have said, they kind of chuck in all the leftover parts of the cow, pig, whatever animal they use to make it.

Kosher hot dogs, though, are a little better, since they can use only certain parts of the cow for consumption (or they wouldn't be Kosher), and you know you're not getting any pork in them.

Hebrew National is a very good brand of hot dog. They're especially good when grilled a little (even on a George Foreman grill!)

According to my step father, it's lips and @ssholes. I doubt this is true though. I believe it's scrap pieces (trimmings, etc.) from different animals. Even if you buy all beef hot dogs, it's still the junk parts.

Dogs. That is why they are called hot dogs.

Kidding.
I think ham or bolona b/c when I eat them thats kind of what they taste like. Plus ham is pink too.

I've looked at the ingredients on the label - Just says beef, poultry, and so on. No specifics.
