More severe contractions, where the eyelid completely closes, are possible. These can be caused by irritation of the surface of the eye (cornea) or the membranes lining the eyelids (conjunctiva).
Sometimes, the reason your eyelid is twitching cannot be identified. This form of eyelid twitching lasts much longer, is often very uncomfortable, and can also cause your eyelids to close completely.
In addition to having repetitive, uncontrollable twitching or spasms of your eyelid (usually the upper lid), you may be very sensitive to light or have blurry vision.
Eyelid twitching usually disappears without treatment. In the meantime, the following steps may help:
* Get more sleep.
* Drink less caffeine.
* Lubricate your eyes with eye drops.
If twitching is severe, small injections of Botulinum toxin can temporarily cure the spasms.>

Eye Twitching, or Blepharospasm, is involuntary eyelid twitching. It is also referred to as an eye muscle spasm. The term blepharospasm really applies to any abnormal blinking or involuntary eye twitching of the eyelids caused by uncontrolled contractions of the muscles around the eyelids. Sometimes people experience the twitching under the eye and others may experience the twitching in their right eye or twtiching in their left eye. In simple terms it is a blinking disorder.

Left eye twitching has separatre meaning for male and female.
for females - it is a good sign, something good will happen
for males - its opposite, something bad will happen.

I was told by a few people that it means that someone is going to piss you off really badly. That is just what I heard though!

mine did it for like 3 weeks straight. it meant nothing... are you stressed? getting enough sleep? worried about someting?
those are factors, but it will go away eventually mine did and it has only happened once since then and it was for like 10 minutes
