I don't think I have ever heard a christian tell a non-christian not to cuss. I have heard parents say that to their kids more than christians to non-christians.
In response to some post answers here, I am a TRUE believer and have been for a very long time. I have led Bible studies and even played in the worship teams...and guess what...I cuss sometimes.
I think the difference sometimes is that we know that we should not use vulgar language because it doesn't accurately reflect Christ who we are supposed to represent...but we fail. We should only be telling ourselves to not do these things. We can't expect non-christians to follow the same things we do if they don't believe it.

There is nothing wrong with cussing. The Christians want you to think there is, but there is not. You and only you are in charge of you. The one who is in the wrong here is the person who has been led astray by the Christians into their cult, or has even begun to let them influence them in any way. Speak your mind and do everything you want to do in life. Drink life up and be yourself. Believe me it will feel amazing and you will NEVER regret it. Have a good life and dont waste your time with that nonesense.

...more than us? Who is this 'us' that you are referring to? Plus Christians don't say 'don't cuss'. God told us not to use His name in vain.
I suggest that you stop making assumptions about things you have no idea about. I'd like to know how you know that the person that is cussing is a Christian. Are they saying they are a Christian just because they were baptized as an infant or are they practicing their faith daily. True religious people practice their faith daily. Just because someone goes to mass once a week doesn't mean that they are religious.

ALL Christians do not cuss... the ones I know don't... some do... but that is something that they have to deal with between them and God. I do not cuss, and I don't ever plan to start. Don't make a generalization like that because it makes you sound foolish.

Most "cuss" words are made taboo by society rules, and those rules change with time. Somebody at some time decided if they thought something sounded nasty it got labeled as a cuss word. God says not to take the Lord's name in vain. He didn't say anything about words like "F***-a Duck" "Rats ***", or "Sh**-for-Brains". Early Christians were all perceived as being overly "prim and proper", and nothing off-color ever passed their lips.

First of all, generalization is never a pretty thing. Not all of us cuss. And those who do are hopefully trying to do better and are not preaching it to anyone else.

not true christians. You're talking about the hipocrits who think they are christian, go to church once a week and think they can do anything they want all week long and they are "saved" because of their once a week outing to church. Or they used the excuse that they are "saved through God's grace" and "saved because Jesus gave his life to save us" and that gives them an excuse to cuss all they want and get away with it. NOT!

Whoever said that Christians were perfect? Just because they stride to become a part of God's Kingdom doesn't free them from the world. Christian have a lot to overcome but at least they recognize that God in Christ exist.
