I've had this happen to me before, and what I did was crumble the broken cake into chunks and spread on a cookie sheet. I broiled it in the oven for about 45secs-1minute to "toast" the cake crumbs. I lined two round cake pans with plastic wrap and divided the toasted cake between the two pans. I drizzled the cake with kaluha (about 2 shots per pan) and then spread softened coffee ice cream over the crumbs. I refroze the layers. After they were frozen, I pulled the layers out of the pan and peeled off the plastic. I put one layer, cake side up on my serving plate and spread a thick layer of jarred hot fudge sauce over it, then placed the other layer, cake side down on it. I frosed it with cool whip and froze until it was time to eat.
It is the yummiest ice cream cake ever!

You can attempt to piece it back together with frosting but short of that nothing but start over again. Your cake was either too moist or it wasn't cooled enough before you removed it from the pan.

Break up the pieces, put fresh or frozen fruit over it, add lots of whipped cream. If your supermarket sells barvarian cream put that in layers with the fruit. Serve it in a beautiful bowl. DO NOT tell anyone you didn't plan it this way. They will think you are a genius. Call it something elegant--Empress Gateau or something.

Break it up into big pieces. Mix it with your favorite pudding, put in a 9x13 pan and top with Cool Whip. Then you can decorate the Cool Whip with 'Happy Birthday' or whatever you want. Yuuuummmy!

Glue it back together with frosting, then frost the entire cake. It should look and taste fine.
