You are all f*cking retarded if you believe a single drunk built a boat to hold all 100 million species of animals, including their food and water, and then conveniently dropped them off on their respective continents without causing the greatest mass extinction in earth's history.
Btw, how about all of the fresh water lifeforms? Did he also build aquariums for the fish, crustaceans, amphibians, aquatic reptiles and mammals?

Yes, you likely are aboriginal.
Noah could fit on the ark one breeding pair of the canine species, from which we have all breeds of the dog species today, from the biggest Irish wolf hound, to the smallest chihuahua. Noah could fit on the ark one breeding pair of deer, from which we have all of the breeds of the deer species today, from the biggest, North American moose, to the smallest pygmy Key deer, and all the other deer species all over the world. And the breeding species of the felines, and the bovines, and the equines, the sheep, the goat, the snake, the croc, the lizard, the monkey, etc., etc., etc.
God created all the KINDS or SPECIES, with the ability to differentiate, or BE bred into different VARIATIONS, that is why man can 'make' different 'breeds', but man cannot 'make' different SPECIES.
There are many scholars who are actually not scholarly in their work. Rather, their objective is to discredit and cast doubt on the Holy Scriptures. God created the entire universe in his own EPOCHS, figuratively called DAYS in Genesis. Time was also created by God, and He is not governed by time. All creation had a beginning. God NEVER HAD A BEGINNING. He existed always, and time is nothing to Him. We do not even understand our universe, so how can we pretend that we know MORE than He who made everything? It is the height of arrogance, AND ignorance COMBINED.

Let's say there were X species on earth and Noah built an ark designed to hold Y species. If YX or Y=X, then the ark was also big enough to hold all the species. Therefore, yes, the ark had to be big enough to hold all the species--if you are into that sort of thing.

um...it's called a book. They believe in that book. Religion and logic don't mix, and when you do it blows up in your face. That's why it's called "faith", cuz there ain't no proof. Take me for example, I choose to believe in the gospels of Harry Potter, there are 7 Books, and they are all true. If I choose to believe in it wholeheartedly, it'll be a tough job to persuade me otherwise. Can a guy wave a stick and spells shoot out? You say no? Then prove to me a guy can touch a leper and cure him. Simple, you CAN'T prove and reproduce miracles. Therefore you can't knock religion for the fancy stories they have, it's JUST a story.

Too many people of academic acclaim spend too much time fantasizing and too much time trying to fit square pegs into round holes. I have addressed the age of the earth and Genesis controversy so many times that I am sick of it and refuse to address it anymore.

To answer your headline question. Yes, He built an ark that was large enough to hold one pair of each of the animals on earth. :) Good Luck ! :)
