Instead of sniffing for bombs, drugs, etc, can a dog be taught to sniff for household items? It would be nice if my dog could help me find my keys

My friend (cop) trained his beagle to find his wife's key's and purse. He sprayed the bottom of the purse and the leather on her key chain with a "scent" and trained him with treats when he barked upon finding it. NO touching it.

Ironically his name is Bandit.

Denise (above) is correct, if you spray your items with a certain scent your can purchase, you're dog will be able to locate your items. It takes a very special and unique dog and trainer to have the patience to learn though!

I don't think so, since keys or remotecontrols don't have a uniqe scent like booms and drugs.

I'm sure they can. That would be awesome if my dog can find my keys

Probably, but perhaps it would be must easier to place them in
the same area each day ~ ~ ~ ~or put Velcro on them, and when
you get into your place, place them on the Velcro area they belong
on.

good luck
