It's not the best solution, but make it bleed and put neosporin ointment on it.

Avoid peroxide, bactine and alcohol. This 'cleaners' will dry out skin and make healing worse.
Get some liquid Dial and pick up some SEA salt (table salt and epsom salt ARE NOT the same). Clean the area with soap an remove any film on the jewelry. Wash well with warm water until the soap is all gone. Then mix the sea salt with warm water so it tastes like tears and soak your ear for 5-15 minutes. Clean the ears twice a day, soak once a day. DO NOT remove the jewelry and only turn it when you are cleaning. If any 'puss' comes out, as long as it's clear or white, you're okay. If it comes out green, yellow or brown you have an infection and should see a doctor. Healing an ear takes 4-8 weeks depending on how good you are to it, what it was pierced with and the jewelry in it. Good luck to you.
If you meant close up the hole that is healed, that's just a matter of time or it might never. If you reciently got the hole done and don't like it, remove the jewelry and clean the hole daily until it closes.

When I had an infected piercing, I was told to put a needle with thread through the piercing, and tie the thread into a loop (removing the needle since it's used only to get the thread into the skin). Then apply peroxide or alcohol (the latter burns) and pull the soaked portion through the piercing three times a day.
I think this would work only with an ear, lip, or belly button.

I would not put a needle through the piercing. You want it to heal, and putting a needle through could just damage the tissue. Try betadine, isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol), or hydrogen peroxide. Put it on the piercing and then spin the ring around in the hole so that your skin does not grow over the ring (yes, this does happen).

As a nurse, I would say some Bacitracin ointment to allay infection. Before, I suggested alcohol or peroxide and got blown out of the water. These are things I do and have never had an infection.

If you just had a peircing done and want to keep it open always keep your blings clean. nothing invites infection like dirty swag.
your earrings once taken off must be placed in antiseptic solution.
Swelling may occur initially but if it persist it may be infection. doubletwined suturing thread soaked in antibiotics through the hole might help. Always remember to keep it clean. Peircings usually take a few days to a week to heal. Just keep it clean.

don't use hydrogen peroxide! you can use it like once or twice because it DEFINATELY will heal it up.. but it will make close it up and it will stick to ur earing, thus, when u twirl them, ripping the skin open again. it's a neverending cycle of pain. try the stuff they recommend.. the ear care stuff. put it on a q-tip and rub it on, don't let ur hands even TOUCH your ears unless you just washed them becuz even if your hands are sparkling clean, they still have tonnnnnns of germs that will nott help ur ears out one bit.
goodluck.
by the way.. i wouldn't try that string-through-the-ear trick that other person told u to try.. that sounds like it would hurt if you JUST got ur ears peirced or if they are infected(whichever).. i wouldn't recommend it either way!

Sea Salt is all you need, only need a small amount in warm water. Soak it 2-3 times a day for about 10 mins use a cotton bud to gently remove any crusty bits. Do not touch it all until you have washed your hands!!!

They tell you to use a solution that they carry at the shops. But with my experience alcohol works well and it kills germs. I dont believe in turning them all the time because of all the bacteria you carry on your hands. It is an open wound that needs to stay clean.
