If you are served by a municipal water company most likely the water company has used chlorine to kill bacteria and make your water safe for drinking. If you are served by a well it will not have chlorine as it is coming straight from the ground.

Yes. It depends on the city where you live, and the quality of the water originally before treatment as to how much chlorine they add. My grandparents live in a small town in central Ohio, and they have so much chlorine in their water, you can smell it when you turn the water on. :(

Yes, most, but not all. Municipal H2O systems purify the water with chlorine because it's the safest and cheapest way, but some don't. Why don't you call them and ask?

Not if you live in the country and have well water, who knows what's in it other than a lot of Iron, I live with a well and it's fine for most thing's but I drink bottle water and so does my dog, just to be safe.

Yes unfortunatly our drinking water does have chlorine in it ...chlorine being bleach,wow what does that tell you ...ok it may kill the germs .................... it stinks and it tastes horilble ..........I called the water board out once and he told me it was the pipes from my washing machine and to run the water for fifteen minutes before I drunk it.............................well come to your own conclusions
