Don't let them mention the conflicting, peaceful verses. All those date from Muhammad's early period in Mecca, when he didn't hold political power, and were abrogated by the later verses which enjoin violent proselytism, as every classical school of Islamic jurisprudence agrees.

Those who quote those peaceful verses are either self-deluded or attempting to delude you. That's how Islam works -- the mask doesn't come off until a society has reached the tipping point, and then it's too late.

No, these statements are summaries of what some nutjob decided to pretend the Quran says.

Edit: Lol, you are an infidel by your onw claims, not by mine or my religion. No such mention of "infidel" in the Quran. So since you have your physical copy of Quran, may I ask which translation you have and can you quote the commentary that is in the Quran for any of the verses you posted?
(btw: you didn't quote anything from Quran, you "summarized" it)

Edit: You still haven't given any quotes of commentary. Do you refuse to do that, or did you just forget? And no, I don't call you an infidel. Sure goes completely against your backwards theory, doesn't it! Lol! I don't call you an infidel, nor do I call you a kafir. By Islam, only God can call out who is and is not a kafir, and I am obviously not God.

Open your Bible at random and you ought to be similarly stunned at the barbarism and savagery. Leviticus is a good place to start. And try reading the whole thing, not just the cherry-picked verses popular with people seeking to condemn homosexuality. There are plenty of ways to offend God for which the Bible quite specifically says you should be killed, including but hardly limited to worshipping other gods or associating with other cultures.

I'm not defending the use of texts from the Koran to justify acts of terrorism, which is apparently what you're alluding to - just pointing out that the Bible is really no different at all. Maybe my point is that people ought to try thinking rationally for themselves about things based on conditions that actually obtain today, rather than seeking guidance and/or justification for murder from millenia-old texts.

when it speaks of infidels, jews and christians this isn't talking about John Doe living in Kansas. it's talking about the political and religious leaders that are declaring war on them. NOT individuals. You must interpret these correctly and in order to do so you must know the history behind the verse. otherwise the meaning is completely altered. here are the correct verses.

9:39 Unless ye go forth, He will punish you with a grievous penalty, and put others in your place; but Him ye would not harm in the least. For God hath power over all things.

8:12 Your Lord revealed to the angels: "I am with you: give the believers firmness; I shall put terror into the hearts of the disbelievers. Strike above their necks and strike their fingertips."

4:90 Except those who join a group between whom and you there is a treaty (of peace), or those who approach you with hearts restraining them from fighting you as well as fighting their own people. If Allah had pleased, He could have given them power over you, and they would have fought you: Therefore if they withdraw from you but fight you not, and (instead) send you (Guarantees of) peace, then Allah Hath opened no way for you (to war against them).

9:5 But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them: for God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.

4:101 When you travel, during war, you commit no error by shortening your Contact Prayers (Salat), if you fear that the disbelievers may attack you. Surely, the disbelievers are your ardent enemies.

6:152 And do not approach the property of the orphan except in the best manner until he attains his maturity, and give full measure and weight with justice-- We do not impose on any soul a duty except to the extent of its ability; and when you speak, then be just though it be (against) a relative, and fulfill Allah's covenant; this He has enjoined you with that you may be mindful;

48:29 Muhammad - the messenger of GOD - and those with him are harsh and stern against the disbelievers, but kind and compassionate amongst themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating, as they seek GOD's blessings and approval. Their marks are on their faces, because of prostrating. This is the same example as in the Torah. Their example in the Gospel is like plants that grow taller and stronger, and please the farmers. He thus enrages the disbelievers. GOD promises those among them who believe, and lead a righteous life, forgiveness and a great recompense.

5:34 Except for those who repent before they fall into your power: in that case, know that Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.

5:51 O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust

You should read the "Holy Quran" carefully first with a teacher to understand each sentence and how it can fit according to its situation, not as selected cutting words as you mentioned in your targeted question! .. Any naive can do what you did with any book if he wants to push others to drop it as by your words effect!!

Quran is extremely peaceful, informative and clean up to unexpected extends if you really decided to know about it.

You can be honest and objective if you only selected to be like that.

Regards

You forgot one...

"Man has authority over women because Allah has made the one superior to the other, and because they spend their wealth to maintain them. Good women are obedient. They guard their unseen parts because Allah has guarded them. As for those from whom you fear disobedience, admonish them and send them to beds apart and beat them." (4:34, Quran)

I CAN DO THE SAME THING WHAT YOU ARE DOING WITH ANY SCRIPT AND PROOF THAT THEY SUPPORT KILLING. INSTEAD OF TAKING OR COPY AND PASTING VERSES OUT OF CONTEXT I WOULD ENCOURAGE YOU READ THE HOLY QURAN AND JUDGE IT FOR YOURSELF. THANK YOU
