Please cite the source of your information, provide credible links and I'd prefer an NCBI study (or on that same caliber) but I'll accept a bit of comical propaganda from LLL or one the numerous other batallions of the breast militia.
Thanks in advance.

Cassandra, thank you for that pointless rambling. Unlike you, I have done credible research on the effects of both bottle and breastfeeding and the IQ difference is nil or very slight (2 points), mortality rates of breastfed vs. formula fed infants in developed nations are 1:1, and the word is still out about the absorbtion of these hypothetical antibodies via the bloodstream in human infants. Sooo, take that rant back to LLL and Kellybitches. I'm not interested in any biased, illogical diatribe coming from your superiority complex.

There is no evidence that shows any parent is a better parent for breast feeding, but there are many studies that support it because it provides better nutrition (If the mother is getting appropriate nutrition) an supports an infants developing immune system (If the mother is otherwise healthy).
I disagree, cassandra. I was adopted and formula fed, and if my IQ suffered, the end result is negligible. I have seen no unbiased studies that really show any difference between intelligence in formula fed and breast fed infants.

Probably not.
I doubt you'll find any serious studies that purport to show that breastfeeding mothers are "better" mothers than those who formula-feed, first because it is too difficult to define the term, and second because there are many factors in good parenting that are unrelated to nutrition. What standards would you use to define a better parent? Would you base it on what kind of adult the child turned out to be? Behavior or grades in school? Health? It's far too subjective.

Scientific researched proof of lots of things is readily found. Have I ever seen a difinitive study on this one. My opinion on this one, would have to err on the side of mothers who bottle feed. How many women out there are breastfeeding because its better for baby and then using drugs or drinking and passing it along to the baby. So lets say we have a drug addict who breasfeeds and one who formula feeds. I'd say the one who is bottle feeding is a better mother. On the average, there would be no conclusive study done because there are too many variables. And what, IS the definition of a good mother anyway? One last note, formula doesn't lower IQ, I was never breast fed and have an IQ of 172.

I don't know many FACTS about breastfeadin vs. formula. But I do have an opinion.
I don't think women who decide to use formula are bad mothers. From what I understand, it is extemely exhausting, and makes your breasts very sensitive. I'm sure breast milk is healthier (though I'm not sure), but in this day and age, women have more choices . . . why not take advantage? I plan to breast feen my babies mostly because I have bad allergies and I have heard that bread milk helps the baby build an immunity to the mother's allergies, however, if I try it and decide I can't handle it or don't like it, I will have no moral issue switching to formula.

I agree not better parent just providing better nutrient to their diet. It increases the bonding also. But bottle fed parents can and are wonderful parents as equally as breast fed moms! I breastfed but with my first it was hard and I had alot of support from my BF otherwise I may have quit myself.

I honestly don't see how breastfeeding makes you a better parent. I breastfed my first daughter for 12 months and am planning to breastfeed the baby I am pregnant with now. I believe my sister is a much better parent than me and she was unable to produce enough milk to breastfeed her children, no matter what she tried.
No matter what you choose to do, you're going to be the best mom you can possibly be.

Breastfeeding does not make you a better 'parent' -- the person makes the parent. Breastfeeding provides much needed antibodies that a newborn needs, but most formulas provide this now. I LOL at your source requests, you must be bored.

Better parents? NO. Certainly not. But there is scientific, irrefutable proof that breast feeding is better than formula. Goggle: benefits of breasting feeding. You'll get plenty of good hits, things that'll interest you.

I guess it depends on how you define better.
Formula use lowers the IQ, raises risk of colic, diabetes, cancer. Human milk is nuritionally complete, its delivery method promotes bonding, its use makes it harder for a mom to abandon her young to substitute caregivers, and it changes to suit the child's needs.
Given those facts and only those facts, one could easily argue that a parent who chooses human milk for their child is a superior parent by far to a formula choosing parent. But, there are always other facts. So, nursing one's child is far superior to not nursing one's child, but beyond that, you can only guess at the parenting ability of each 'type' of parent.
