OMG, I can't stand it!!!! There's a guy at work who does, and when he's in the lunch room eating, I get as far away from him as possible. I also can't stand the gum snappers.

I don't really notice it unless the person happens to smack really loudly. My ex-boyfriend was very tuned in to smacking and it drove him insane! His roomate's girlfriend used to smack so loud that I swear it would echo in the dining room, that used to even get on my nerves. I used to smack occasionally, but now I am more aware of it and definelty don't do it anymore, so I guess I am a "reformed smacker".

what I can't seem to under stand is how the person who is smacking while they eat can not hear them selves doing it. when other peoples children eat at our house I just have to sit and stair in amazement at how they can do this, it is like chewing your food with your mouth open it is just gross, and the fact that they do it showes to me that there is no home training

I can't stand to hear someone smacking. My son does it even when chewing gum. It just gets all over me.

I guess you are not meaning actually slapping it?? just kidding
It can be if you eat around this person a lot, but if it is only once in awhile it is semi - tolerable.

Maybe their mouth is misshaped by a birth defect. I don't get annoyed unless they exaggerate it for fun.
