"Allah" is the Arabic word for "God". Arab Christians use the word "Allah" as well and many Muslims often use the word "God" when they speak in English (I mean also when they speak of the God they believe in). Muslims often use the word "Allah" also when they speak in other languages because they believe Arabic is a holy language.
However their believes of course differ from Christianity, esp. as they don't believe in Trinity.

Allah goes way back for God. God is written as Allah in Ezra ch. 7 as ALH, book of Job is ALWH along with El. In Daniel ALH chapters 2-6. And in Daniel 11:37-39 the ALWH the Antichrist. associated to Babylon.
In Psalms 18:31, it is "Who is ALWH save for Yahweh.". Elohim (ALHYM) is mostly used in the Psalms. ALWH Is One. The Yahweh thy Elohim (plural) is one Yahweh.
Muslim thinks that Allah is the name of God. But it roots way back to mean God in a singular sense

Well technically that is what they say all the time. Our God is their Allah. It's when you get to Jesus being the son of God, that the parting of ways begins.

The God of the Bible is all about love? I'm laughing here through my tears, thinking about this God of love who destroyed Sodom and Gomarrah, Lot's wife, all the world in the flood, demanded Amos kill his daughter for victory in battle, asked Abraham to kill his son (just kidding, Abe!), and on and on and on. Christ, this God of the bible even got people to slaughter his son so the rest of us could go to heaven.
If you think this is a good god and 'allah' is somehow a bad god, you are ignorant, as in, unknowing, or you are just in denial. get a grip, people.
Don't get caught up in religious warfare and intolerance - you are being manipulated by your govt (well, by the lying, mass-murdering, theiving gangsters who stole our govt) and it makes you look foolish.

NO , we belive that Allah is the name of the God , the Lord ... i mean i noticed in Yanswers that many ppl think that Allah is a name of a different God , NO , Allah is the name of the God who create the universe , the God of heaven and hell , Adam and eve , the story of the apple , satan , the angels , the demons , judgement day , the God of Muses , abraham , joseph , and jesus , the God who helped Muses to cut the sea and cross with the jews from egypt , the one who made saint Marry to born jesus without a father , and who punish for evil and for not beliveing and rewards in afterlife ( and in present life too) for the good you do and for beleiving , he ordered mankind to do good to pray to him and fast to him , to help the poor people and help the weak one, and forbidd mankind from injust , sex without marriage , wine and drugs , eating pigs (like in judaism) that is the God of islam ... do you recognise that God ? it is your God , and WE CALL HIM ALLAH

and to comment on thomas , i'll say it simple , God in islam is more alike God in judaism than that of christians , Muses led his people as a leader and so did Muhammad , muses defied the pherro and God helped him and killed the pfaroo and his egyptian army , but jesus said let what to ceaser to ceaser and what to god to god . and the judaism ordered the people of israel to fight the palastinians and told them God gave you their lands from nile to forat , so Muslims fought for God made a muslim state... Jesus never married , Muses like Muhammad married ( and so did all of israel prophets ) God asked Abraham to slaughter his son as an exam for obedince , and when he and his son ismael agreed , God made a miracle and the son saved and became a prophet ... lots of wives , islam limit wives to only 4 after they were many , and with conditions that not everybody can do .
