some will some won't. mine I think they recognize their name but won't come when being called. just keep saying it over and over again to them especially when giving treats or food or playing anything that is good. don't yell at them using their name, then they start associating their name with something bad.

I have kittens that are about 5 months old now. I didn't give them names until they were about 1 month old. When I did, I constantly called them by their name. Example, How's my Sophia. Is Sophia hungry. I love my Sophia. In other words repeat it over and over. They all learned their names in a couple of weeks.

All of my cats know their name. They may not come when called, but if they are in the same room, their ears will perk up when they hear their name.

Someone gave me a full grown cat named Squishy. It was her nephews cat. She said I really don't like the name, but name him whatever you want. He's a really big cat and always called him my Big Boy. I'd call him Squishy and he never even looked at me. I started calling him Big Boy and he'd come running. I don't think it took him more than a few weeks to realize his name was Big Boy.

I really believe if you say their name over and over to them, it really won't take long til they catch on. Cats are very smart. I know sometimes they don't act it, but they are.

Some cats WILL respond to their names, but usually (since they don't speak english), it's just the tone of your voice when you say it. If you want this to occur, you must use their names around them often....and associate it with pleasant things like feeding and playing times.

Other cats will respond to anything. This is also based on the tone of voice. If I look at either one of my cats and speak in a higher-pitched (happy/excited tone), they both get interested and come to me.

And there are those cats that won't come to you no matter WHAT you do.

It's always best to start calling them by their name when they are babies, but since yours are already 3 months old, I would say they just need some time to learn who they are. My cats know their names very well and I have addressed them since they were born. Just call them by name frequently and talk to them by using their names, especially when it's feeding time or when they do something, they know who they are and which name is whos.

They probably don't all learn at the same rate, but seems my kittens have always learned their names in a short period of time and they do respond to them and if they are interested in coming when called by their name they will. They do definitely know their names. They can be independent and contrary, but usually come when called.

Cats have a mind of their own. Depends on the cats personality. I really don't think they know what their name is. Its the tone of your voice. I have a cat named Stewart and he comes to pookie dook, stinker doodle and scoot & toot. Go figure.

It took our new kitten about three weeks to look when we called her name. She is 3 months old also, so it probably just takes time for them to become accustom to hearing the same name over and over.
Enjoy your kittens!

All I know is that you have to teach them their name. Say it to them over and over again in a high pitched and happy voice so they associate their name with something pleasant. Also, call them by their name and give them a treat.

It depends on the cat but if you call them by their names like evrtym you pat them etc they'll soon get the idea.

whenever u play with them, call them by their name, they should get used to it after awhile. I dont know what else to tell u, i dont know if there's a specific time frame as to how long.
