Wasn't Jesus killed by slow torture? Does it seem like something
you should be promoting?
Really, I'm curious?

I like the way Uncle Osbert stresses that innocent people might get tortured, and someone gives him a thumbs down! What kind of people are on here??

Venus says Muslim extremists torture -- when more evidence of US torture comes out, will people like her see the point -- that we've quickly sunk to their level? There's more than one way the terrorists can win this "war".

If you wish to promote terrorism why don't you just come right out and say it. Don't be shy and don't try to blame it on God.

If some guy says a group of people (Isreal or USA) should be wiped off the face of the earth, he is trying to get the ability to do so (nuclear weapons) and his buddies (Islamic terrorist) wish to make all of us convert or face the sword.

I will do what ever I need to to protect my family from those that would kill us all and I would even try to protect you.

I know that you think they should not be harmed or even made to loose sleep but we are at war and that's not going to get the job done.

Will you change your mind when they kill a thousand more of us or ten thousand more or a million or when they force you to bow down to their God and give praise will you be at peace then or would you be a man and take the knife to the neck?

Speak to those in the Sudan who were given that choice, the ones that lived anyway, their were not a lot. Speak to those in Nigeria who faced the same thing or India or Albania or Czechoslovakia or Pakistan or the many , many other places these so-called peacefull people have allready been.

Open your eyes and see the truth. I am not even trying to tell you about Jesus now, just look into this and see what these people are trying to do. They will convert or kill the entire world if allowed.

Gimme a break....

the liberal Democrats were complaining two days ago that ......if we don't allow the detainees to have at least 8 hours of sleep each night then that is considered torture.....

Let's ask every mother in the U.S.A. with small kids what she thinks about that.......I'll bet there aren't many of them that get 8 hours per night either

It doesn't matter how good an idea either party has or how well their policies do, the other party is so full a babies that they can't get along no matter what.

Just think ..If both parties would actually do something novel.....like WORK TOGETHER, just think what we could do.

Who says we promote that! Never! I don't even think I have read anything abotu ANYONE supporting torture! You should be asking the muslims this question. There was an article in the paper the other day that said that more people are being tortured in Baghdad than ever before.

You always ask the BEST questions! The "torture" he's supporting includes cold rooms, sleep deprivation, grabbing the persons shirt front, slapping his belly, playing loud music etc. This, in my opinion, is NOT torture. So yes, I do support it. Are you a child who doesn't even know how to read a newspaper, or what?

torture, as it is discussed by the media, is always carefully connected to guilt and terrorists. there is never the implication that any innocent person might be tortured.

that's the concern i have, there is no doubt in my mind that there is a risk of torturing innocents. but that isn't a problem for people who have absolute faith we would never do such a thing. i don't know where that comes from: we are men, not gods. we make mistakes always, in all things.

i don't know what the aim of your message to me is... i don't support anything the administration has said about torturing people, i am appalled that the vp will prance around asking openly for that ability. i was answering your question because i am interested, not as a conservative christian.

I'm assuming you are referring to the current legislation to clarify CIA actions relating to the Geneva convention? Nobody is promoting torture. The argument is about how much we should define and limit it in extreme cases. And I think if you look at the various conservative christian churches' position on the issue, you'll see that none of them are "promoting" torture.

These questions suggest that since Pres. G.W. Bush is a conservative Christian, then ALL conservative Christians are like-minded?

Another assumption is that some of his policies run along the lines of "torture"?

In its entirety, is this a question or a veiled sweeping generalization?

Torture is wrong religiously. However, since we are only human, if a little bit of torture on one spares the lives of many, it's OK.
