Does religion or spirituality have anything to do with the way you act?

I have no idea whether I'm a good person or not -- my own ego explodes and grabs power whenever the question comes up. My mind wasn't built to self-test and self-analyze itself accurately in realtime calculations. I'm afraid I doubt that your's was, either.

I suppose I could be "better." I go to a very small, geriatric church full of smug bigots and I'd probably be a better person if I didn't waste an hour a week on those fossilized vampires. I'm thinking about dropping the annoying ritual.

Religion and spirituality have no effect on my because I was blessed with too little faith for it to have any power over me.

I am a good person and no religion or spirituality doesn't have anything to do with the way I act. I act the way I am because I came from a family who looked "down" on people. What I mean by "looking down" on people is they are only associated with Chinese people. If that person isn't Chinese, then they won't talk to that person. I am an American born Chinese and I don't care about their skin color. I treat all people equally and nicely unless they hurt me by saying mean things to me. If that person always says something mean to me, then you can't be part of my life.

Definitely, it does cause, it gives u another perspective of life and the way you should treat it(as if it was the last day everyday). But it doesn't mean that u are better, I'm a good person(so I think) But I'm always looking for ways to be better, I like to be nice to people because I know I want people to be nice to me ( and even if it don't happen some times) that's what makes me stronger the fact that i can be nicer to make this world less arrogant.

Yes, I'm a good person. Of course I could be better. No, religion has nothing to do with it. Actually, I'm a much nicer person now that I don't have any kind of religion. I'm nicer to people now because I should be, not because "the bible tells me so".

yes, God has everything to do with how I act, now.

I thought I was a good person, a long long time ago, but when I was measured up against the laws of God...I was found wanting to say the least. He showed me that I have a long way to go, but we're working on that together everyday.

I think I'm a good person in societies "eyes." I don't think I have been a good person in God's eyes, but He loves me anyway and that is all that matters. Jesus Christ forgave my sins and sees them no more. If I'm good enough for Him, then anyone who believes and puts their faith and trust in Him completely is good enough.

I think I was chosen by God to be the way I am. I grew with some good qualities even before I accepted Jesus as my savior. Now that I'm a born again Christian, I know that I need to be better than I am. I need to learn everyday in this life to be better and better because that's God purpose for my life to get better.

yes... i feel that i've always tried to be "good"..whether or not i believed in chrisitanity (i was born into it, and fell away around college time, recently went back on my own accord). i can ALWAYS use improvement! no one is perfect, understanding human nature is not perfect allows us to be understanding towards each other. however, i do feel that it has done a lot to change how i think about relationships, people, etc.

always seek what is Healthy, Positive, and Happy. :)

what i learned recently was Romans 5-8...basically that no matter what we've done, do, or in future, accepting Jesus Christ as savior means u are Justified --> not guilty. therefore, as long as u concentrate on Learning from mistakes, and striving to be Good, Healthy, Happy and Positive, u can change. even if u dont' change, u are still loved. but it gives me the Hope and Faith in Myself that i have power in myself to change things, in my life. even if i made a mistake, i can pick myself and start again. :) this allows me to forgive myself, forgive others, and not dwell on negativity.

i believe if people in general, christians or not, dwell on Positivity and filter out negatives, they will be Happy. and i mean Healthy Happy, not like surrounding urself with temporary happines.. Real, True, Good Relationships, life, surroundings.. life is full of good and bad things, but making ourselves stronger, happier, and full will help us get thru Anything. :) good luck to us all!!~

I believe I am inherently good since I a made in the image and likeness of God, but since all humans fall short of the Glory of God, I know I can always improve. And, Yes, religion and spirituality has certainly shaped my life.

It's important to me that I live a moral and useful life, and I think I'm doing pretty well. I'm certainly making an honest effort to do so. I could do better, of course, and that gives me something to aspire to. Religion has nothing to do with this for me.

being spiritual doesnt help me or make me become better ... however it may help point out areas that could do with some changes... but that is just personal and not for everyone
