And you evolutionists, stay out of this, okay? I want to hear it from the other side, if that's okay.

I know you don't believe it happened... but WHAT, exactly, do you believe did not happen?

cantfindsense, you are the only one who is at least trying. I did not ask about abiogenesis, so how life began is not the question. I'm asking how evolution is supposed to have worked. what do the evolutionists maintain happened?

2006-09-22 06:54:43 · update #2

Nick T - you are trying, too. What is evolutionary theory. And for that matter, why did you reject it?

2006-09-22 06:56:10 · update #3

So far no one has given me the slightest inkling that they might understand what they are rejecting. Nick... C'mon! You're up to it, aren't you. Explain Evolutiuonary theory to me.

H, you have come closest. Thank you. However, where did this man-ape union thing come from? I don't understand where that came in. A common ancester is like saying my cousin and I have the same grandpa, no that my dad and his sister mated. Am I misunderstanding you?

Evolution within the species (in theory) works this way:

The original 'model' becomes extinct replaced by an evolved model or the original model becomes a "failure" and simply ceases to exist, period. Example: Giant, prehistoric sharks became extinct possibly because the food-supply diminished to the point that it could not support such a behemoth. "Smaller sharks" evolved and survive to the present day. A shark is still a shark, the giant shark did not evolve into something else such as a "land shark" to continue seeking food elsewhere. In a nutshell, sharks still exist; giant sharks such as Megalodon do not. This is a crude explanation of evolution within the species, which is a scientific possibility but still a theory and not a proven scientific fact. Megalodon may still lurk somewhere in the deep, dark blue where Man never ventures. And the dinosaur may still roam deepest, darkest Africa. There have been numerous unconfirmed reports of a Brontosaurus like critter roaming there. And what of Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster? An aquatic dinosaur? Food for thought.

Cross-species evolution is even more of a stretch and actually demands a 'leap-of-faith' even for evolutionist to accept as scientific fact. The best example of cross-species evolution is the on-going Creation vs. Evolution debate.

Evolutionists say: Man evolved from the Ape, or they at least share a common ancestor. My question is: "If Man evolved from the Ape, why do Apes still exist?" The Evolutionist will reply: "Well, they had a common ancestor." My question: "Where is this fabled Missing Link." The honest evolutionist will reply, "We haven't found him yet but Chimps and Man share (take your pick) 90; 98; 99; 99.9% DNA. My reply is: "Although there is no evidence for such a union but speaking hypothetically, IF at one time there was a 'union' between Ape and some kind of primordial man resulting in a viable off-spring—your 'missing link,' then that cross-breed between Man and Ape would by definition be a hybrid. According to science, hybrids are: ALWAYS BORN STERILE." The Mule being a modern example of a hybrid. Mules to this very day are... sterile.

To this I would add:

"Are you really surprised that Man and Chimp share DNA material? All Creation on Earth was effected within a sealed environment (the planet Earth) from the same building blocks. Of course Creation shares DNA! All life on Earth is based on the carbon atom."

Creatrix, reduced to the simplest terms that is the best explanation for a 'common-ancestor;' somewhere along the line there had to be 'cross breeding.' Otherwise you have two 'created' species producing a third species (without cross-breeding???); when has it ever been known that an Ape birth anything other than an... Ape? Your cousin and you sharing a grandparent is to be expected, since all your parents were the same Species, Homo Sapien. Although I am not into that myself, some of my cousins have traced our family tree back a thousand years. They've yet to find a monkey or an ape, although there were a number of reprobates. LOL!

How can you say "If I evolved from a monkey monkeys wouldnt exist"

where is your proof? Oh proof involves science and you don't believe in that.

You cannot say evolution is a lie as you don't know. You can only say it is an unproven theory. But Creationism is even less proven yet you believe that. DUH!

The stupidity of you people is beyond belief. you will believe anything your ministers tell you without questioning it.

I am giong to become a minister and tell my congregation to give me all of their money.

Creationists also make a HUGE assumpution that everything lived in the same place, the common ancestor could have lived in groups all over the world and evolved separately. Where does this BS about cross breeding and sterility come in? Its a deliberate attempt to confuse stupid people

Evolutionist here..not answering but would like people to know a couple of things.

One is that creationism is NOT a theory. Creationism is a HYPOTHESIS as it has no scientifically tested data at all to back it up.

Evolution is a scientific THEORY since it has been tested many times with results showing the idea valid but has not been tested long enough and still not 100% positive results so not a LAW (like gravity is).

Evolution has nothing to do with the Big Bang theory or the origin of life. Sorry but you all are comparing apples to oranges and getting all the true definitions of the terms horribly wrong which confuses the issue.

Also I am here lmfao because there is yet to be an actual answer to question

No one is going to sit here and write paragraph, after paragraph, after paragraph explaining the same thing that we've all learned in Biology for years.
I suppose you're trying to expose the ignorance of Christians on the subject of the Evolutionary process, but really, the question is only presumptuous and insulting. If that is the purpose of your question, you're displaying ignorance yourself by adhering to ridiculous stereotypes and generalizing a group of over 1.5 billion human beings.
Congratulations.

what in the world?
Do we all have the powers of obsevation?
Has anyone ever observed another pattern except that all life was preceeded by life?
What Darwin observed and wrote on was not an observation of life creating itself from nothing. What he did observe was the width of adaption that was available within the framework of creation.
every life form has a range of adaptability written into it. That is why in each lifeform there is the extent of variety. Yet no lifeform can adapt beyond the preset limits or parameters of it's genetics.

This'll be fun. They always wonder why monkeys and apes are still around if we evolved lol. Good question.

Wow, they totally missed the whole point of the question. F****** Christians.

Well, I'm not a creationist nor a evolutionist. Both theories have more holes in them than swiss cheese. But I do think aspects of both are applicable. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle IMO. Probably somewhere along the lines of Intelligent Design, where God guided the creation process through natural laws.

Where do you want to start: the big bang, the primordial soup, the evolution of consciousness from inanimate matter, the evolution of humans from the rest of the animal kingdom, the evolution of natural law, the evolution of civilizations, the evolution of various inanimage geological structures, etc.?

I would like to hear anyone's explanation of the evolution of consciousness, or even the evolution of a bacteria flagellum.

OK, let me get this straight. You want creationists to explain how evolution works when we don't believe in the theory.

We don't know. We don't think it happened and don't understand it because it is silly.
