i agree, and it's not healthy to even think like that.. but in today's world we are conditioned threw media and society to want more faster.. faster cars, faster planes, faster relief with medication... so it's no surprise that people want to lose weight faster also.. and the fad diets have played into that.. which wasn't hard to do.. if you promise people all of their dreams will come true enough will buy in that you can have the "support" you need to make it seem real. it's sad but we live in a world full of gullible people. people need to set realistic goals, not just in weight but in life.

I have often wondered this myself, and actually posted a question about this very thing a few months back. The only thing I can think of is that we are a country obsessed with instant gratification; we want that super hot body NOW without breaking a sweat for it. I don't understand it...anything worth having is worth working for, and I am VERY proud of my muscled legs and toned arms. Because I WORKED for them. If I could take a pill and still get the results I'm getting from the gym, I don't know if I would take it.
People want to believe that they can take a little pill, never lift a finger to exercise and drop all their weight. What they don't "get" is that the reason the diet industry is so huge is because NONE OF IT WORKS. All these pills, creams, lotions, powders, none of it holds a candle to just going to the gym or in your yard and BREAKING A SWEAT.

It is possible to lose a great deal of weight with dedication. I have seen it myself. It may not be possible to lose the percentage of weight in a short period of time that some people expect, but I think people ask because they are hopeful.
