I have a degree in child development, but would like to go to school and become an RN. I am 30 and have 3 young children. I am wondering if anyone has knowledge on types of funding programs to help with the costs??

I am married, I was hoping to help with the costs so as not to take much away from the family right now. :)

Yes, there are scholarships for those wanting to return to college and go for RN license. Typically, there are few grants or scholarships for someone past high school or a degree. Since there is a nursing shortage, scholarships have been established to help bring new nurses into the profession. I have listed some free scholarship searches below.

I would start by visiting www.fafsa.gov. I have used this site for the past 4 years for my son who is attending college.
Fill out all the necessary info, can be time consuming the first time and it will give you a report of what grants and loans are available to you.
I am almost certain that you would still be qualified, but I am curious if you are married? If so, your husbands income will also count against grants, etc.
Also be real careful, there are other sites out there that claim to be fafsa. These will attempt to charge you to fill out the application. The site I gave you above is a govenment site and there is no charge for anything.
Good Luck.
