The doctor prescribed a medication LA q-day. What does that mean? I am not the one the medication was prescribed to, so I don't have a doctor to call.

I am at work as a medical report proofer. A co-worker is typing a medical report and has come across this terminology. Neither of us are taking the medication. We just want to know for our own improvement.

LA usually means long acting. Usually used for meds taken once a day. You can always call a pharmacy and ask a pharmacist any questions you might have, even if its not yours. I call for my dad all the time.
