No illegal immigration is my #1 issue, mainly because it affects many other items of daily life.... schools, health care, tax money, the demand on energy. etc. etc. etc. (just a BIG domino effect)
I am not going to vote for my party any longer. I am voting with the issues in mind. I refuse to vote for anyone that is for amnesty (of any kind, by any name) (we have been down that road once, don't want to go there again)
Gay marriage....not that much of a concern for me .... war in Iraq, I support, I honestly believe that somewhere in time, we would have had to go in, and I would rather it be my husband (he's been twice) rather than my son. (or future grandchildren)

46 Million Americans don't have any health care insurance and you guys have your balls in knot over illegal immigration! You got poor people who cant afford their own medications and the rich Pharmaceutical companies overcharge Americans. That is why so many people come to Canada to purchase the same drugs which are produced in the US in the first place. You better start paying more attention to the inequality of health to your citizens. It is not as black and white maybe as the War In Iraq or the Illegal Immigration issue, but it is ultimately more important to millions.

There certainly is an issue more important then illegal xcriminal immigration. There are many.
I think in the over-all thing...you probably mentioned three very important issues, but a vote can't be cast so lightly. There are too many things to consider.
I would vote republican anyway, if the candidate is not the issue because my thinking is more in line with them. However I personally don't agree with the Bush administration on immigration but he will go down as a great president.

I am shocked at the answers of some on this site! It seems impossible to me that Americans can't see what harm the illegal mexicans are doing to our country. You think Bin Laden is a threat - you haven't seen threat yet - just wait if the amnesty bill passes. I will NOT vote for anyone that pushes any form of amnesty....I watch the voting record then call or write any one, any state that is voting against Americans! I hope you all do the same....these bunch of nasty, illegal, criminal mexicans need to go back to their 3rd world country...

The most important political issue right now is the way that our "democratic" political system itself is being dismantled - by the attacks by the Bush regime on our civil liberties and the Constitutional system of checks and balances, by the legislative corruption that opens Congress only to the highest bidders, and by an electoral apparatus that no longer commands or deserves the trust of the American people
Until those situations get fixed, the other issues (like immigration, church/state issues, etc.) can't be resolved in a way that will be satisfactory to the American people. (For example, economic interests will trump real security every time.)

No, illegal immigration affects all walks of life, from education to healthcare to taxation ... it's a much broader issue than a few "poor people wanting to better themselves" ... in the upcoming election I will vote ONLY for those people who have a solid record of being pro American and anti illegal immigration ... I would urge people to look at their records for quite some time back, since I've heard and noticed quite a few doing U turns in the hope of currying favor with the electorate, but have no real intention of keeping their promises once re elected ....

The most important political issue for me is the transparency of government and the trustworthiness of elected officials. If I know that the elected officials have integrity and decency, then I can trust that their political stand is based on what they think is right for this country, not some hidden agenda being pushed by their sponsors. Sadly this is a pipe dream. It seems like everyone in washington is corrupt these days.

Yes, I think education and health care are way more important than anything else. Instead on the news we are constantly bombarded with the war and immigration. I don't see why we are so worried about other countries when we can't even take a minute to focus on ourselves.

I'm voting based on immigration. I'm anti-illegal immigration. Nothing I CAN IMPACT is more important, politically. Illegal immigration is destroying my children's schools.

Yes, illegal immigration is probably the least important issue to me. What should be addressed is how we can eliminate taxation, preserve liberty and privacy, and reduce government spending.
