We are all different shapes and everyone gains weight in different areas. Doing crunches will only help strenghten your abdominal muscles, not remove the fat over them. The only way to do that is to watch what you eat and do cardio: running, aerobics, biking, something to get you moving. Once the fat is gone, then you will be able to see the definition in the abdominal muscles, just think of having a quilt on top of your stomach, when you get rid of the quilt, then you can see the abs.

It sounds like you may be a candidate for diabetes, unfortunately most people don't know the early warning signs, and what to do about it. One of the first signs is the weight gain around the middle. With a high glycemic diet, you continually spike your blood sugar. Your muscles become insulin resistant which leads to diabetes, and heart disease and also resistant to weight loss, hence, why your crunches aren't doing anything for you. This fat is called "killer fat". It's a very complicated thing that too many people are not aware of that is slowly killing them! I have the perfect regimen for you and I would love to help you out with this! You are better off catching this now and managing it, than 15 years down the road when it may be too late. Visit my website restartyourlife2@usana.com or email me restart2@usana.com and I can give you all the info you need! You won't be sorry!Thanks-Alli

You can't target weight loss by working out muscles in a particular area. You anatomy doesn't work that way. If you are devolping a bit of a guy (the most common place guys first tend to gain weight). You need to start an aerobic routine. Try running or swimming, or even walking.

You can't spot train. Where fat accumulates is determined by your heredity.
Your best bet is to join a gym and learn how to add MUSCLE. That will give you more bulk, but in a healthy way. There is a right and wrong way to gain weight. Plus if what you gain is muscle, it won't end up in your belly.

Men seem to gain it around their middles. Lately, there has been research that indicates a lot of it has to do with stress levels. You just have to watch what you eat and know that's where you gain it.

Keep doing sit-ups. My karate teacher once told me to do 500 sit-ups and don't get up till your finish. STOP drinking beers too, if you do, cause they have alot of fatty carbs. SALADS are also a good way to trims that belly down...........Doctor Jae
