I was clearly stating a FACT. I did not mean for the question to sound to harsh.

maybe thats what they can afford. i also wonder why scrawny people drive huge SUVs like tahoe, hummer, expedition and excursions. they look like a piece of toast behind the wheels.

A person who eats a lot usually cannot, also, afford to buy a larger car that consumes for gasoline and costs more to repair. And sometimes they really don't care what anyone else thinks about that.

For the same reasons everybody chooses the car they drive. It's what they can afford, they like the gas mileage, they like the way the car looks, etc.

Why worry about us big folks in little cars? If you think it looks silly, fine. I think there are much better things to worry about, if you have to worry at all.

Perhaps the corollary to your "observation" explains why men/women who feel inadequate choose to drive large SUV's...

...give the so-called "LARGE" people a break. At least they're not spewing fumes and CO2 into the atmosphere. Your kids will thank them for it.

And since when is your observation (purely anecdotal, btw) FACT? Where is the data to back it up as FACT? Do you have statistics that bear this out as FACT? If so, please share.

I think it makes them feel smaller. If they can squeeze themselves into it then they are "thin".

There's this girl I work with that is HUGE (at least 300 lbs) and she drives a TINY little MG. One of the smallest cars ever made.

LOL

I guess you can ask the same about little people in big cars.

it is the truth and i know what you mean. i see it everyday. maybe it was the only thing they could afford. maybe some mini vans are too expensive for their pockets. sometimes they want something really cute, flashy and it just happens to be something small.
