It is the size of a pencil eraser. She plays, eats and drinks all the same. It does not seem to phase her. She is 5 years old, part border collie and part shepherd.

That is common in dogs, and just a blemish..could be from an old flea or tick bite, or an old ingrown hair...the thing is, it will likely be there a long time, as it seems to refill...Some go away in a year or two....Not to worry, though..

not a Q the list can answer; VET, VET, VET, asap!!

it sounds like an abscess, and the cheesy substance is pus. the body tries to wall off whatever bacteria, burr, splinter, etc, is in there - but it can become a WHOLE body problem.

abscesses can be no big deal, or become life-threatening; even if it IS a benign fatty cyst, U still need a vet to tell U that!!
hope Ur girl is just fine - perhaps U could update the list later?

My guinea pig had the same thing. I tried treating it myself by expressing the white hard substance out and using alcohol and antibacterial ointment several times.. In the end it kept coming back, so I took her to the vet and the vet removed it surgically. Now it won't come back anymore.

my best friends dog {Daisey} had one so she took her dog to the vet the vet said it was a cyst the vet just squeezed it for a while then sent the dog home so she just keep squeezing it instead of paying a vet bill it took about 2 months for the thing to finally heal! I hope that help!!!!

Take her to the vet, don't take chances with a pet you love. We had to get a biopsy on a bump for my dog and it told us many things we didn't know, and now we can take better care of his needs.

dogs can get pimples and cysts same as people. if u can squeeze stuff out of it go ahead and get all u can out of it without hurting her. recheck in abut 24 hours see if it is still down in size if not take her to the vet.

I'm going to guess it's a calcification. Sort of like a zit that gets petrified with calcium deposits. I've had small ones myself.
