"Kill em with kindness"
For example when my husband and I first married, his ex wife and sister were constantly interferring in our lives and being hateful. I sent them a Christmas card and told them I was praying for them. And I did pray for them as well, but deep down I knew it would 'get their goat'

If someone were to argue with you over the Bible's validity you can simply say you can't argue with a fool. Use Proverbs 26:4,5
You could use this for a lot of things actually.

I try not to do things by what the Bible says. It's not a great book for that. Instead, I think for myself.

The Bible tends to paint things as either good or evil, as if they are actual characteristic of something. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Beauty is not a characteristic of an object, but just a judgement of the person viewing the object. The same holds true for good and evil. There is nothing that is inherently evil. There are just judgements you hold of things around you.

Ah...someone seeking a practical answer from scripture!
Not knowing what exactly is the "evil" you are battling, I will first assume you are speaking from within: I would recommend you follow the advise given inPsalm 119 97-104.

Basically, keep reading God's word, meditate on it, and keep you mind on Him. Discipline your thoughts so you don't allow yourself to dwell on temptation or evil.

If your speaking of evil from outside, prayer, prayer, prayer. Be sure to ask God for help. Then do your best to react as a child of God should....it's not easy, but it is a great feeling.

God bless

If you are VERY kind to an evil person, they will usually go away, since they cannot tolerate kindness. They do not understand it.
GIVE to the GREEDY. Speak politely to the IGNORANT. Treat mean people EXTRA kind. INVITE the PUSHY to get in line ahead of you.

Most of the time this kindness will go over their heads, as they do not understand it. However, once in a while, it will open the eyes of the blind.

Good does not "overcome" evil. Good understands evil. The Bible offers no help in understanding evil. Evil is uniqely human and is in everyone. Only self-knowledge brings the understanding that puts evil in its place.

The bible actually says in many places to cut the evil people out of your life completely. You are to carry your own load--not worrying about your neighbors. If you really want to help someone else, stop trying to do it on your own. Pray for them.

Treat them with the dignity and respect afforded all of God's children. Those who have turned to evil are especially in need of our prayers and kindness. I recently had a fellow Christian challenge our faith because he was having a serious conflict of faith having encountered a religious cult. I spent many hours going over the tenants that were luring him away from Christianity one at a time until he saw the truth.
For someone you do not know who confronts you with insults to your faith, you can only maintain your composure and answer calmly and truthfully. If it escalates to violence, bless them and go your way keeping them in prayer.

Do good to them who do evil to you basically? It works I was once very nice to my x husband when he was being verbally abusive to me and it shut him up.

Someone screams obscenities at you at work, you stay calm and say "I'm sorry you feel that way". It shuts them down, defuses the situation.
A reaction like this will make people think, and they may later even become your friend.
Try it, it works.
