I generally think that a month for every year you have been together sounds about right for getting over a relationship, of course everyone's different but I think it's a good rule to stand by.

Oh I think you should wait and wait and wait and wait and wait and wait till he come back to you and say he loves you and he is not gay...........but I don't think you really believe that. If you do then you wouldn't be asking this question.
The relationship is over no matter what his reason are.
DON'T SEE HIM, DON'T HEAR FROM HIM, DON'T DO ANYTHING THAT REMIND YOU OF HIM. OH just get away from this guy.
Just go out meet someone and then another and then another and get some skill of meeting people again and by that time you will know what kind of person you are looking for. and Oh by the way I meet and marry my wife after 6 month. 3 Years COME ON are you kidding me? If you found the right person you should bring him to meet you parents and friend and meet his friends and parents and then ask your self the real big question: DO I TRUST HIM?
Good Luck

3 years is a long time but you're already free as a bird. You don't need to wait for anything else before you date again AS LONG as you feel you are REALLY ready to get back to the dating arena. Otherwise, like you said, you will just be on the rebound. Sometimes, seeing other people helps you totally move on. So while you can date as many as you can, you don't try to commit or see anybody exclusively until you know he's for keeps.
goodluck! =)

Sure! There's nothing wrong with going out and having some fun, just keep it light. You are on the rebound, and you are going to be for quite awhile (that's natural). But still, that's no reason to put your life on hold.

Do what you feel is right. But I also think he needs to leave first and if you do love him as you said.. it may be hard to get over this for a while. Don't make the same mistake and break more hearts over this drama. Take your time and choose wisely.

If you think you can give your love to some one else them yes you might be ready.
Rule for most is 6 months from the date you break up is when you could start dating again.
Good luck !

Take as much time as you need. There's no need to rush into anything. You need time to adjust the fact that your ex is gay. But it's not your fault. Just hang out with friends and do whatever you feel like doing that would make you happy.

Give yourself time to get over your boyfriend and yes start dating again. Also if I were you I would make an appointment to get tested for any STDs just to be on the safe side.

Wait until he moves out of the house. It's just out of respect for the people you will begin to dat. Would you want to date a guy who has his ex who is a newly found lesbian living with him?
