I take it literally because they are trying to do one of two things.
1. Make it clear that they don't want you even thinking of them never mind attempting to spend time with them, or...
2. Trying to trick you into proving YOU think they're worth it and going after them anyways which is a stupid insecure mind game, and not someone I want to be with. I don't like being manipulated... punished maybe but not manipulated :-P

Well, it depends on how close I am to that person. If it's a good friend who's having a bad day. I tell them that I am worried about them and they say not to think of them or not to worry about them, I will. But if it someone I just met, then no I don't think of them.

YEah i wouldn't think of them! they are asking for negitivity in there life and with that attidue they willl draw more people like them or bring others down to that level!
id on't have time to play games if you don't think your worth it then so be it!
i don't want to waste my time trying to bring you up when your going to say it's not worth it!

If someone ever told me that, yes, I'd take it literally.
I don't have time to provide therapy for people with no self esteem.

No, if they feel they aren't worth it, it just means they have low self-esteem. That means they probably need me to think of them even more.

if you mean to go out with I agree My stepson dated a girl who always said she not good enuf for him he dated her for 2 years and asked her to marry him she said no he got engaged to another girl and then she wanted him back Im glad he said NO she was not the right person for him

it depends on my mood..i take it literally when i'm not in a good mood..but i might think it twice if i'm in a good mood..u know touzours..maybe u shouldn't take it literally cuz it's usually the other way around when someone told u not to think of them..they actually want u to think of them..btw..i'm in a good mood at the moment..

It could be a selfless individual that puts others above him/herself. They are hard to find, usually people only care about themselves.
