when you think of a box, it's usually a square. a round box would be a short cylinder and it would be near impossible to ship that in a flat form like you can with the square boxes. really, to make a true circle would require the boxes be shipped in pieces and stuck together and then you would have to worry about the container coming lose and then whole pizza sliding out. plus, squares are more space efficient because you can line the straight sides up with no unused space. if you want your pizza in a round box, expect to pay anywhere from $5- $10 extra.

because it is easier to make a square box than a round one and other than that they fit perfectly next to each other.
they sell square pizza's too you know, it would be very difficult to put a square pizza in a round box, don't you think !!! the sides would touch the box.

The corners of the box are made to hold the toppings that slide off of the round pizza while in transit!

Square boxes are easier to make than round ones, and much easier to store when flat. Your question, I would respectfully suggest, should be why are pizzas not square............

Do you know how long it takes to make a round box? Try it, you'll see why they use square boxes.

Making round boxes is more difficult task and more expensive to manufacture. Plus you need a container that can be set up easily by a minimum wage worker at the Pizzeria
