DEFINITELY! I'm a believer of the saying "absence makes the heart grow fonder."
If you really love this girl, the distance shouldn't be an issue as given the technology right now, you can talk and see her as much as you can to keep the relationship alive. Aside from this, you can send her a mail you personally wrote or deliver some sweet nothings (chocolates, cards, flowers, the works).
Once a month or so, as often as your schedule permits, you try to meet up in the middle just so you'd never miss how much it is to really hug and kiss her.
No matter what, always keep your lines of communication open as this is the only thing that works for most couples like you. Be as honest and affectionate to her as you can when you call or chat so there won't be any rooms for doubts.

As long as you both are committed to each other and know what each other want, no matter the distance, a relationship would work out. But you have to know what each other wants first.

We communicate common. yet to be trustworthy, i'm moving nearer to my Love next month. i do no longer know how long shall we've made it long distance. it is particularly perplexing. I advise which you communicate collectively with your significant different approximately getting collectively sooner or later. You dating might proceed to exist it understanding which you would be collectively in the long-term.

they rarely work.
and putting yourself through the yearning from being apart... all the uncertainty that'll go through your head... will she be faithful? will you? your phone bills will skyrocket unless you're calling on an unlimited nights/weekends calling plan... you'll invest in a webcam so you'll get to see each other. yeah, it's all really cute and fluffy but in reality, it's really hard... it's a rough trial for anyone to put themselves through. if you really want to be together, figure out a way to be together in the same city. long distance relationships suck.

in my opinion, they don't work...espec for young people. have some fun while you are both apart and if its going to happen in the future it will. all the bollocks people say about "if you love eachother enough it will work", its extremely hard for younger people to be apart what with hormones and booze being so readily at hand! but, if it does work, i wish you all the best and prove me wrong!

It can only work if there is sincerity, money and trust. It also depend how old the relationship is.
