it seems to me that most of us really dont have anything nice to say,no matter if we ask an intelligent question or not.any thoughts on why?

You must be ready different questions and answers than I am, I find lots of nice here. A lady just wrote in about not being able to compete financially at her son's wedding, she could not afford the fancy dress like the mother of the bride was wearing. She got some lovely answers, not one mean one in the bunch. I have asked a few questions, got mostly nice answers.
But I hear you about the questions, some do not require much thought process to compose, I cite the" Pesi or Coke" question, I have "borrowed" questions like yours to complain about it several times now. I am just tired of it, it shows up so frequently.
Ok, here is my opinion. If a person has a question, ask it. Yahoo! asks us to conform to some community standards, OK, no problem, I can do that.. There are no rules that say how intellegent the question has to be. Any one can come here and gain knowledge. That is the idea, I think.
I myself have asked simple questions, "Help! I can't make gravy!" being an example. I was not out to solve the problems of world peace, or hunger, I just needed some help with the problem of my own hunger.. And I got really helpful suggestions. To me, that's why there are different catagories, so I do not bore someone with a mundane question. We can choose whatever catagory we like to respond or ask questions in.
I have also seen the type of questions address tuff topics, about the human condition, science, religion, etc. . And I have
seen some good answers.
So it boils down to this: some people come here to have fun, get help, give help. Some come to gain knowledge, and are looking to talk about serious matters. There is room here for both, you just have to look for what you want, and ask the right questions.

that is because some people think that being sarcastisc, or imposing themselves and their beliefs is a good thing. i had very abusive responses to a political question( i am from the Uk, and only wanted to get a bit more informed on the US governament), and i have also seen racial comments. sometimes i must admit that i have let myself go, hence the askers were touching some nerves. were here to be once again the living proof that there will never be peace and harmony in the world. we can not do it on a simple website...imagine.

all the best to you. take care and be happy.

I think some people use this venue to rid themselves of anger they repress in their every day lives. If they expressed themselves publicly the way they do here they would be shunned by those around them, or, in some cases, they would probably get hit. Anonymity is their opportunity to express all their negativity without fear of any repercussion.

There are a lot of people out there who want to be noticed....weather its for shock value or there own stupid sense of humor. A lot of people will answer a question just to answer it. To feel like they have something to add. Mostly it comes from immaturity.

I think anger sometimes stems from insecurity. When people are not truly convinced of their beliefs, anger is sometimes a shield to mask our own doubt. I'm not saying that only insecure people get upset in debate, but I am saying that when we have run out of legs to stand on, we sometimes resort to emotions. God Bless You.
