"Belief" is more geared for governing one's self(that should not affect anyone esle in any way, shape, or form) and "knowing" is a fact.

I believe. I do not know. Nobody knows anything when it comes to divinity. Certain aspects I know, but anything that I cannot prove I believe because it seems to be the most logical theory.

Religions are based on faith. Faith is commonly known as a belief, trust or confidence often based on a transpersonal relationship with God, a higher power, elements of nature and/or a perception of the human race as a whole.Faith is the belief that is not based on proof. People having faith in God know in their heart the truth although not everything they believe can be proved without faith.

I can only speak for my faith (Christianity)...

I not only believe that Jesus is the Son of the Living God, I know the Holy Bible is true!

There are additional historical documents that back up the Holy Bible.

A good way to put it all into perspective is remember the words of Sir Karl Popper in the early 20th century, "Nothing can be proved, only disproved." I believe that when it comes to religion people think that they "know" they are correct and they are very terrified to ever believe anything else.

I can only "believe" I am following what my mind and heart tell me to be true for myself. No one, and I mean no one, KNOWS their religion is correct, it's a contradiction in terms to say you KNOW your faith is correct. Whoever does needs to look up the definition of the word faith. We all ask these questions, it's the human condition. Whether one is an atheist or a Buddhist it's all about what you "believe," not what you "know."

They believe they know.

This is the basic problem - they should know they believe. Belief in God can only ever be a belief, no matter how strongly-held that belief is because the whole crux, certainly of Christianity, is that you must have faith and not ask for proof.

Good question! Some people believe they have rational proofs for their beliefs, or their beliefs are based on specific experiences that give their beliefs the weight of "knowledge" (e.g., "I know Jesus is real because I've seen Him, and He told me what to do"); others simply believe based on faith, without external evidence.

I believe that I am correct but at the same time I do not try a disprove others who feel the same way. I know what I believe and that is what matters the most

When they say know, they really mean believe, but since their faith is so inseperable, their minds will not permit any doubt. Therefore what is a belief based on unconfirmed evidence becomes hard fact to them.

In the end, its all semantics anyway...

I don't think anybody really know's what religion is right. In my opinion from reading the bible there should be no religion. All god wanted us to do is believe in him and love one another, no religion involved.l
