i got her and her play mate at a cat shelter awhile ago and gave them one kind of food, but I noticed that they were quite loose, so I changed to science diet kitten food. My male is fine he does have loose stools anymore but she is still loose. What should I do about her.

if you kittens do have diarrhea, the best thing to do is cook them a little ground beef and let them eat it. I don't know why this works, but it does. We've had to do this a few times with our own kittens.

Even crappy food like Science Diet would not necessarily cause one kitten to have diarrhea and a vet should investigate if there is another cause, such as worms.

If you have ever been plagued by this condition yourself you will know how miserable it is and how sometimes you can barely make it in time to the toilet. So your little girl may have a problem getting to her box on time and start a bad habit of going elsewhere.

The change in food could've triggered the diarrhea.

Whether it did or not, I wouldn't recommend Science Diet....at all! It's basically high-priced crap. Believe me, I wasted money on it for over a year...and it pisses me off. It's full of by-products and corn. And I'm sure Old Cat Lady will inform you of how useless "kitten formulas" are.

But check this site out;

Just so you know, despite common belief, it's easier for cats to digest soft food and raw meat than it is for them to digest hard kibble.

take the one with diarrhea to the vet along with a stool sample.

If your giving her milk, that's probably the problem. Milk gives cats and kittens diarrhea then they get dehydrated. Just give them water.

don't let it go on for too long or the baby can get dehydrated! maybe the new food doesn't agree with her? the vet should check her out to see that she is still hydrated enough.
