I bought some Hebrew National "dinner size" hotdogs. It's a package of 4 or 5, I believe. They're not as large as kielbasa, but they're about 1 1/2 times the normal length of a regular hotdog, and pretty big around. In other words, they will not fit on a bun! I think if I made those crescent roll things (where you put cheese inside the hotdog after slicing the dog, then wrap a crescent roll around it) the roll would be finished baking and the hotdog would be cold in the center because of its thickness. What can I make?? :)

My mom used to make some instant mashed potatoes, slice the hotdogs down the middle but not all the way through and fill with the mashed potatoes then bake for a half hour or so untill brown. You can add some shredded cheese towards the end. You can serve it with veggies and garlic bread or dinner rolls on the side. Mix 3 parts ketchup with 1 part yellow mustard and it makes a tastey dipping sauce. You could heat the dogs up a little prior to baking and splitting if you think they are too big.

Here is an awesome recipe that goes great with hot dogs, hamburgers or anything for that matter!
Sweet Potato Salad
3 sweet potatoes
3 green onions sliced
2 hard boiled eggs
1 celery stalk sliced
1/4 cup bread and butter pickles chopped
1/3 cup mayo
1/4 cup Durkey Famous Sandwich Sauce (this is in the mayo section of your grocery store)
3/4 t. of dill weed
1/4 t. of cayenne pepper
Bake sweet potatoes, peel and chop in large pieces. Add chopped eggs and remaining ingredients. Mix gently and refrigerate until cold. Adjust the dill and cayenne pepper to taste.
This is my sister's recipe and is awesome. It's easy and so refreshing!!

Microwave the hot dog for a short time. Then wrap with either the crescent roll or in a tortilla with some chili & shredded cheese.

Cut 'dog' in 1 inch pieces. In separate pan- saute 1 lg. chopped onion and 1 lg. green or red pepper til nearly soft...add hot dogs, 1 jar prepared pasta sauce, and simmer for 20 min. You can also add mushrooms, chopped celery even summer squash or zucchini. When all is cooked to your taste mixture can be put over rice, noodles or rolls. Top with grated or shredded cheese. Quick, eay and cheap and kids love it.

the best thing to do with hot dogs is to make pasta, or pizza. Slice up 'dem weiners and fry 'em up, mix 'em with your favorite pasta shapes and noodles...or a real classic, mix them with mac n' cheese or a can o' spagetti-o's (or other canned pasta of your chooseing). And to make those cresnt rolls, just pre-cook the weiners and bake on a lower temperature.

I was going to recommend wienie roll-ups. I think we're having them tonight. I love Hebrew National, unfortunately, I'm the only member of my family who thinks so.
I'd recommend boiling the hot dogs before making the wienie roll-ups. You don't need to do it completely, like if you were eating them outright, but boiling them before will cook them somewhat, at least enough to avoid "cold dogs" (which can really ruin wienie roll-ups.)

I have cut up hot dogs (in circles, not diced) and put a little bit of food coloring on them. I lined them up like a caterpillar and my girls loved them.
