I had a decent experience with them last spring. I booked our hotel and flight with them to go to Vegas and get married. We got hitched without a hitch. Now if only I could say that about the marriage...:)

This depends on what your real question is. Expedia as a site is as safe as one could presume in this day and age. It's the "for airline tickets" that is dodgy. Expedia may be arguably safe, many airlines, I am afraid, are not (financially safe, I mean). Any airline can go (and do go) bust overnight and technically, any airline that is in Chapter 11 you cannot get insurance against to protect you if that airline does finally go bust. If your airline goes bust, you have lost your money. That said, a lot depends on how your ticket is bought, a straight forward schedule ticket is wholly unprotected, a consolidated ticket is protected. The thing is - do you really know what you are buying? Given that the whole picture is a complete ruddy mess that even the travel trade has a job understanding, dear old Jo Public does not stand a chance. You may, therefore like to consider travel insurance AND make sure that there is something called "scheduled airline failure" cover included. Some websites will ask you if you want to pay scheduled airline failure and if they do - take it.

Yes. I've booked through them several times. I have never had a problem booking or encountered any problems with my credit card afterwards. They're a great Site in my opinion. However, you should always do your research. Anyway, yeah they're safe. Don't worry. =0)

Certainly I have used them many times and never any problem, but I do prefer Orbitz because they keep sending you notices about your flight etc.

Yes. It was started by Microsoft. It probably has the best financial backing one could ask for.
