Six months is the general rule, but your vet is the best person to ask as it can vary with breeds. If you are spaying a kitten, you want to before it goes into heat for the first time, as it will make the event easier on your cat.

We had one get pregnant at around 6 months. She was way too young, it's not the healthiest thing to have happen. She just did it before we could get her spayed. Another thing a lot of people don't know too is that house cats can go into heat in the winter where an outdoors cat usually waits until spring, and cats can have several litters of kittens a year. They can go into heat while they are still nursing kittens too. I reccomend spaying at 6 months if at all possible.

They technically are able to get pregnant the as soon as they go into heat for the first time, which is usually around 6 months. Nowadays you can get them spayed pretty young to avoid this (if that's what you're trying to do). My girl was 12 weeks when I got her and she had just been spayed the day before. Many vets will do it once they're over 3 lbs I believe it is.

most female cats like dogs go in heat at 6 months of age an again at a year if yu dont want kittens i would get her fixed or keep her completely away from male cats when in heat they usually rub up on things they do bleed an they YELL all the time it is very annoying my suggestion is get her fixed unless you want to breed..

As early as five months of age, more normally at six months. If a kitten (and she is still a kitten at that age) gets pregnant it is the equivalent of twelve or thirteen year old girl having a pregnancy. The girls and the cats have not completed their own growth and development and the pregnancy will rob them of the nutrients they need to be healthy.

I've heard as young as 6 months....but it's rough. Breeders recommend waiting until a cat is 1 1/2 to 2 years old before breeding.
Christina's close! They only have to be 2lbs. to be neutered/spayed.

My kitten got pregnant when she was about 7/8 months I believe. They say you can spay them around 8-9 months. But the earliest you can get them to the vet the better.
