About 5 also, at home. I think that the law in UK is children from the age of five can have alcohol at home- respobsibly obviously. I don't see any harm in introducing children to alcohol- that way they can see it as a sociable and nice thing to do, rather than grow up thinking it's a taboo and going to get smashed as soon as the bouncers think they look 18. It's so silly.

Probably around 6 years old. My parents had wine with dinner and I got a couple sips. But that was it. Then when I was about 11 I was on my home from a church group and had ordered a veggie burger and a virgin strawberry daiquiri. As I was walking home I started feeling really funky. I told my parents it didn't taste right. They tried it, and IMMEDIATELY called the restaurant and told them they'd given me alcohol! That was my first buzz.

I was about 2. My parents were having people over and my mom set her wine glass in the middle of the table while she got something from the kitchen. I managed to get to her glass without anyone noticing. They only found out when my mom came back and asked who drank the rest of her wine.

I was 9 years old. I was outside playing and got thirsty so I ran in and took a BIG couple of swallows of what I thought was 7-up that my mom was drinking and before she could say anything down it went. It was mixed with Canadian mist (I think that's what it's called) I never did that again without asking if it was just pop. I do remember getting a little dizzy.

I don't remember exactly, but I couldn't have been much older than you were when you had your first taste because I grew up in Vienna, Austria, and my grandparents always served wine with lunch and dinner to ALL of us.
